I am looking for input from anyone who will give it. I would like to rent dvc points from a friend and stay in a two bedroom villa. Unfortunately, the dates we are going the beach club is not available. My friend keeps pushing BLT but i am afraid my small children will not "feel" like they are in Disney. (no theme) My son, like many, LOVES the monorail, that is why I am considering it. Thanks in advance for your advice :).

I think your children would love being that close to the Magic Kingdom! Plus...The artwork at BLT is very Disney themed in the villas.

If you are looking for theme, Animal Kingdom Villas are your best bet. What child would not love the animals?

BLT does have a great pool with mickey slide.

BLT with little kids is great. You can see Wishes from the bridge. If you get a good view, you can watch it from your room. Chef Mickey's is there. The monorail goes right by the hotel. Best of all you can walk to MK.

2 BR villas at BLT are huge with three full bathrooms. You can view Wishes, the electric water parade, walk over to the monorail stop, eat at Chef mickey's, take the pirates and pals firework voyage, etc......in short, lots of Disney fun there. It is one of our home resorts and my husband's favorite. You will have fun wherever you go.

animal kingdom lodge kidani is huge and has an atmosphere itself. I did not like the area of the beach club or boardwalk they seemed to be worn down in comparison. Remember animal kingdom kidani is newer than beach and boardwalk. We like bay lake tower too but seemed very busineess like there. Just my opinion

if your son loves the monorail - then BLT is a great choice.

Now it is definitely more expensive than the other DVC resorts - but if she can get a standard view - definitely go for it.

how old are your children?

what do they like (besides the monorail)?

VWL is a good choice too - think they would enjoy riding the boat to the MK.

the VGF will be open then - so put it on your list as well.

BWV, despite the clown pool - does appeal to many children.

BLT is great...we stayed there in a 2BR dedicated when our kids were 5 and 8 and they loved it! It was so convenient to be close to the monorail. The rooms were spacious and there was enough Disney magic in the room to satisfy us all. AKV are great too! We've also stayed there (Kidani) and are staying there again this January for two weeks in a 2BR dedicated. We love watching the animals and the theming is incredible...although it's not overly Disney, it's amazing in it's own right.

If your kids are pool people I would definitely consider AKL. We were at AKL and then BLT and the BLT pool is tiny compared to Jambo and only has one tiny water jet area.

And remember, OKW has HUGE villas, the largest. And the atmosphere is very Florida resort like. Kids like feeding the ducks when they have a 1st floor room. :lmao:I would want to be near Hospitality House though. My kids preferred it over WLV, because WLV did not feel like Florida to them. :confused3 When they got older, teens, they preferred BCV though, more "action".

I would look at photos of the resorts, and the pools, the rooms, to see what appeals to you. They ALL have a different appeal.

Another vote for OKW, quiet & laid back with excellent bus service (IMO). We've stayed in studios all the way up to the 3 bedroom villas at OKW and compared to other DVC resorts we've stayed in (BLT, BCV, BWV, SSR) the rooms are HUGE for sure. ::yes::

blt is in site of the magic kingdom. you can not get much more disney than that. the monorail and extra bathroom are terrific.

kidani is so beautiful and the animals are also. children usually love the animals. they also have the extra bathroom, plus childrens program time in jambo house. the buses run from akl and kidani very fast these days. we don't have to wait any time at all.

i am a founding member at blt and akl, :goodvibes and i love them both. blt is a little more sterile looking. very contemporary. sometimes we feel more like one than the other. but we also love staying at the epcot resorts sometimes.

BLT....definitely! You step out of the car and there is Space Mountain and the Monorail!

Very Disney....I do not understanding the question of Disney theming. How is Beach Club more theming then BLT, except for AKL or Poly, I find all resorts beautiful hotels with a touch of Disney.

You cannot go wrong with BLT it is party of the CR.... So much to see and do between the two hotels!:)
