I know I should probably post this on another board, but I am terrible at making up my mind and I want advice from all the great guys and gals here on the CB. For the longest time I had thought that we'd split our 2 week honeymoon between Saratoga Springs and OKW. Now I'm not sure. What do you think is the perfect DVC for a honeymoon and do you think we should stay in one place the whole time or do a split stay for fun? I've got to hurry up and make my mind up b/c I have to bank my points in 3 days.

Saratoga Springs- theme from none other than Saratoga, NY (horse racing)
OKW- Key West, FL theme
Boardwalk Villas- we all know this theme (next to Epcot)
Wildernesss Lodge Villas- secluded rustic theme (close to MK)

Beach Club isn't an option b/c I'm not a fan.

The staff at BWV was real good last year---even during Hurricane Wilma. It is excellent DVC for you if plan on doing a lot of time at Epcot and the Studios.

My vote would definitely be for OKW. IMHO it is the quietest most beautiful resort on WDW property.

If you are there for 2 weeks, I would split it between 2 just for the change. We stayed at the BWI for our honeymoon and it was WONDERFUL. We loved the resort, and for us, the location can't be beat. If I had 2 weeks and was going to go dvc, I'd probably stay at BWV and maybe the wilderness lodge ones. I don't know anything about the wilderness lodge ones, but it might be fun to look into and a totally different feel than the bwv.

good luck and have fun!

I love OKW also, but where you stay can depend on what you want to do. I realize it's your honeymoon, but you will leave the room, right? :smooth:

OKW is a great location if you plan on spending time at DTD and PI, plus I love the theming. The Boardwalk would be awesome for the easy access to Epcot and the Studios, plus the fun of the boardwalk itself. I guess for the shear fun and energy aspect, I would have to choose the Boardwalk for the above reasons. If you want something more subdued and relaxing, then either OKW or SSR would fit the bill.

I'm not a big fan of VWL, so I can't suggest that.

Good luck and enjoy!

David

Well, going by your wedding countdown, it looks like you're talking right after Christmas? I'd choose VWL for the awesome Christmas decorations and closeness to MK and then either BWV or BCV for the closeness to Epcot and MGM.

What about those cute little garden suites they have at the Boardwalk. I always thought they would be perfect for a honeymoon!

I would split between Boardwalk and Wilderness Lodge Villas. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

ETA...are you going to be in a studio because the studios at OKW have 2 beds in them. If its your honeymoon....ya might want to keep that in mind. ;)

I couldn't help but laugh at your exclusion of BCV.

What?? You don;t want the "honeymoon from hell"??!! LOL

I think I'd split OKW and VWL because of your time of year. I don't know...BWV would be nice too. I'm no help!

I would say WL because it seems to have that cozy feeling.
IMO I wouldn't bother switching resorts, I would find one and stay with it.
You have your whole life as a married couple to visit each resort together.
Have fun no matter what you choose.

Nah, I've never been a fan of BCV. I guess its b/c I'm from the coast so the grandma's beach cabin feel doesn't wow me.

Someone else had asked if we were staying in a studio and the answer is no. We've never stayed in a studio at a minimum we'll stay in a 1 bedroom. We own 300 points so we've gotta burn 'em up :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the responses guys! We still haven't picked one yet, but we've decided to stay in one resort so that we don't have to transport the frozen wedding cake once, dress, and luggage once again.

Will you have a car? If not, I'd avoid OKW.

We like SSR but from what I've read it's a love/hate resort so that might be a risky choice.

Tough choice between BWV & VWL, they're both beautiful resorts and I don't think you could pick wrong between the two.

Where will you be spending more time MK or Epcot? You might want to stay at the BWV if you answered Epcot/MGM since you have the boat and can also walk to each. Or if it's MK, then go with the VWL.

I'd pick BWV with a Boardwalk view for at least part of your trip. There is so much to to at the Boardwalk, especially for a childless trip! You'll have a great time no matter what you pick!
