We are going back the end of Jan next year. Just curious as to where others have stayed or would want to stay if they went in late Jan. Thanks. We would plan on doing the parks on that trip. This coming Aug. trip we are staying 4 nights BW and 5 at SSR. We are only going to EC two days in Aug We are planning on resort time, DTD time, water park time....CHILLIN time. LOL Thanks

In January it can be cool/cold. I love to sit by the fireplace and drink hot cocoa at the Wilderness Lodge after a night of watching fireworks and MK or EP so I would pick the WLV. But then again - I pick the WLV whenever I go as it is my favorite and now my Home Resort. The overall lodge feel plays in perfectly at that time of year.

It sounds like quick access to the parks isn't important for this trip, and you want a more relaxed visit. I'd choose SSR for the ability to walk to DTD, and the low-key nature of the place. Have a nice dinner at the Turf Club, take a carriage ride, walk around the grounds or over to DTD. Perfect! (At least to me.)

I'm with CCigliano - WLV is perfect with the fire in the lobby etc..

No actually Jan. is our park time...we hit all the parks because the crowds are so low. I mentioned in Aug. that we are taking the slow/laid back chillin approach. So I wanted suggestions for Jan. doing with emphasis on doing the parks. Thanks.

January is a perfect time for a bike ride from WL to FW and around the campground. Of course, you can do that and stay somewhere else. But I would pick VWL for the January visit.

Bobbi:)

PS. I'm not sure I would plan water park time, maybe "possible" water park time.

I would definately go with WL...
The place fits the cool weather perfectly:thumbsup2
You wont be dissapointed....
Enjoy

The most park access would be either BWV or BCV. Since you're already planning BW, BC could be a nice change.:thumbsup2
BTW, we go every January and the crowds, like the weather, can be very variable. Lots of local schools, and lots of tour groups, conventions, etc. (not compared to "peak" times, but still, not "empty park" times). Of course, still great, since it's WDW!:goodvibes

love WL for cooler weather...

but if you are going to the parks - then BWV. no offense to BWV lovers - but I have always feel it easier to leave this place and go to the parks.

Well we are booked at BCV for the last week in january, but will be trying to switch over to BWV at the 7 month window. But even if we cannot switch over, I love the convenience to MGM and Epcot at BCV (and BWV of course). I always want to stay at VWL, and talk about doing it, but I have such a hard time prying myself away from the Boardwalk area. Do you have anything booked yet?

Well I am going to book soon. I called a few days ago and SSR is not full by any means the end of Jan.

Oh, my mistake :flower3: If you're looking for park time, I suggest BCV or BWV if you like Epcot & MGM, or VWL if you love MK. I agree with those who said kicking back by the fire with a mug of hot cocoa at VWL in January is just magical!

We too travel in the hot and cool weather (Sept & Jan). We like BCV in Sept because we finish most of our nights in Epcot, outside with drinks watching the fireworks...so relaxing....then to stroll back to BCV keeps the stress level sooo low. In January, because it's cool, our park days are longer - no need to run back in the afternoon for the pool. At night, we've no desire to stay outside with cocktails but instead head "home" after a nice dinner. So in Jan, we'll head to OKW (saving points).pixiedust:

We have been twice in Jan. and absolutely love this time of year. :thumbsup2

Although park hours are shortened....it does't really matter because we are able to get so much done it makes it nice to actually GET SLEEP. LOL

Why do you want to stay at BW vs. BC? Just curious?
