Which Disney World resorts would you visit on a non-park day?

Over the holidays, my daughter and I finally did a monorail/MK resort loop to check out the resorts. Even without the decorations, this would be fun. We really enjoyed Wilderness Lodge, and if it had been a different time of day, we'd have eaten at Geyser Point. I'd definitely suggest going out that way, and using the boat either to or from MK at some point. I enjoyed stopping at all of them that day.
Also, LOVE Animal Kingdom Lodge. That would be tops of list, just to go and animal watch for awhile.

If you're looking to just do some all day exploring, I'd bus from DS to Swan, Dolphin or Boardwalk, You can then walk to Yacht and Beach Club(Beaches and Cream takeout is open). If time still isn't an issue, walk(or there are boating options for all of this as well) to the EPCOT International Gateway and hop on the Skyliner and head to Rivera(not a whole lot to Rivera), Caribbean Beach, Pop or AoA or all of them. We do this quite a bit for a slow paced day.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is certainly worthwhile if you wish to view animals. And you can do the viewing at your own pace. As I was advised, take a bus to AK then transfer to an Animal Kingdom Lodge bus (if I recall- don't hold me to this- the AK Lodge Bus retrieves passengers @ space #17 in the AK bus parking lot).

It's not extravagant, but I really enjoy walking the Hourglass Lake pathway between Pop and AofA. It's a flat, approx 1 1/4 mile, leisurely walk. If you want to make a full resort exploration day, take in these two resorts + a Skyliner ride can take you to Caribbean Beach and/or Riviera.

AKL is beautiful but there's not a lot open right now ( that could change but if we are looking at what's available today - not much ). You would be able to view the animal and experience the beautiful lobby but none of the dining locations at Jambo House are open right now. Kidani Village does have Sanaa with mobile order but it wouldn't be enough for me to go out of my way.

Boardwalk is a good choice as you can visit Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club and Swan and Dolphin all in 1 shot if you'd like. Even with some dining options closed at each of the above you'll have more options for dining and cocktails. It's a lovely walk between them all too.

What are you hoping to do or see? Are you looking for dining ideas?
I'm baffled when people say WL has so much....I mean its a nice resort but I don't think there is a thing to do there?
We love AK, but its out of the way and you'd be able to see animals walking around if they are close when you're there.
People mentioned BW area, its a nice walk if you'd like to take a walk, but we were underwhelmed when we stayed there.
I guess you could walk around BC area to see nice pool?
Lots of the resorts are out of the way and well, beautiful resorts but after a lot of travel to get there you'd maybe want something to do, and theres not much.
I think the value resorts are fun to walk around and see, lots of good photo places and whimsy!
Its tricky right now with so much closed. Not sure exactly whats open but we liked Surry bikes at BW, mini-golf, snacks on Poly beach...
