Which Disney transportation to Port Canaveral would be preferable ?

Does it pick you up at any hotel in Orlando and take you to Port Canaveral?
DIfferent DCL transportation options? I asked on a different thread but no one said anything about DCL transportation? We are doing a DW and US vacation prior to the cruise.
The DCL bus only picks you up from a Disney resort or from MCO.

We have always been told to be on the airport-bound bus no later than 8:20am, and the buses do indeed leave around 8:30am. I imagine that at least one or two buses would leave shortly after that to allow for everyone who booked transportation to be accommodated, but I would not count one on being able to wait until later than that to depart.
Depending on how many people you have, a private car might be better for your needs.
This is not true we have left on an airport bus at 9:00 . They have to have one for the late breakfast people. They leave as soon as a bus is full then another is waiting. I’m sure there will be one there as long as there are people on the ship and paid for this service.

They don’t wait for anyone, honestly. If you left at 9, then it’s because, as you say, it was next in line to leave since the preceding one was full. If you are not on the bus and have not left the ship because you are taking too long to disembark, then the bus will leave without you.

ETA: The point is that I would never assume that a bus will still be waiting at 9am, because while possible and even likely based on how many passengers the buses need to take to the airport, they do try to have them leaving as close to 8:30 as possible, so it’s not a risk I would recommend taking.

We were taking the last bus leaving there was another one behind us. My son was sick and they told him to take the last bus.

Plus they will let the late people eat and that is 8:00 . You go to get off the ship after eating and there are still lots of people trying to get off you would never make 8:20

Not sure who told you at time to be at the bus.

We have taken DCL bus transportation back to MCO over twenty times after cruises and my comments are all based on both experience and factual reporting. They will and have left people at the port who did not get on the bus in time. They are not usually accommodating to the 8am breakfast for people who have the bus booked, so if they did this for you, it was an exception.

I just don’t want the OP to think that they can start a leisurely breakfast at 8am and have a bus full of people who need to catch flights waiting for them to finish, because that absolutely will not happen.

Well we to have done this 23 times with no problem with late breakfast so don’t know what to tell you. We never rush off the ship. Everyone has to be off by 9:30 so don’t know what to tell you. I wish someone else would chime in with there experience.

We are going again in Feb . Just went in October.

We have our initial trip in August, and I will be certain to call and see what the latest bus from the port to MCO will be.

Is the trip to MCO about a half hour?

It’s an hour I believe. They ask you not to book flight before 11:00. But people do and do walk off at 7:30

DCL recommends flights out of MCO post-cruise no earlier than 11:15am and will not provide transportation if booked earlier.

We've never taken DCL transfers to the airport post-cruise, but in 12+ years on this forum I've never heard the MCO buses leave at 8am and no later. Buses to MCO depart when full with another to load after that. To my knowledge, they WILL hold the last bus for the dawdling guest to debark the ship if that guest is booked on transfers to MCO. Some guests don't have post-cruise flights until afternoon or evening. It's always recommended to not wait for the last bus if you need to get to the airport early.

I was going to book noon or 1pm
You should be fine. Security at the airport can be crazy on a Saturday morning when all cruise ships are letting people off but you should be fine.

We’ve seen the last bus leave people behind probably five times. We’ve been on that fateful last bus that leaves around 9am just due to lines and customs and such, and we waited until about 9:10 each time, there was a lot of back and forth with radio messaging, and then the bus left, always with the driver reminding people that they need to make sure that they’re on the bus on time, every time, because “everyone needs to get to where they’re going” or other comments to that effect.

I don’t know of anyone having been told that the buses leave at 8am and no later either. That would be pretty impossible IMHO.
