I am interested in avoiding crowds, so I am wondering which resort has the least rooms.

lets think about this....disney world=crowds....:lmao:

Grand Floridian shouldnt be too busy. a little more subdued crowd..

The Boadwalk Inn has 378 rooms. Plus 383 Villas @ The Board Walk Villas.
The Beach Club has 583 rooms. Plus 205 Villas @ the Beach Club Villas.
The Yacht Club has 630 rooms.
The Wilderness Lodge has 728 rooms. Plus 136 Villas @ The Villas @ Wilderness Lodge.

So not counting the DVC Villas, The Boardwalk Inn is the smallest resort.

I don't think it has the least number of rooms, but POFQ is the smallest resort. Very cozy.

I have to say, staying at the Poly over the Thanksgiving Holiday, I couldn't believe that it was booked solid. The only time we saw many people was at the Volcano pool-- not the quiet one, also peak times at Captain Cook's. I think the sprawling nature of the Poly has a lot to do with the uncrowded feel. Wandering around? Hardly anyone. Lines at the monorail were also not bad, we never waited for a second one in 10 days.

From my Passporter book:

All Star Movies 1,960 rooms

All Star Music 1,834 rooms -----(192 rooms are Family Suites)

All Star Sports 1,920 rooms

AKL 1293 rooms (before converting some into DVC rooms)

BC 580 villas 205

BWI 378 rooms and 532 Villas

CBR 2,112 rooms

CR 1,041 rooms before one of the garden wings was razed to build a new C-shaped tower. I estimate about 300-400 rooms were torn down
leaving the CR with about 700-800 rooms.

CSR 1,967 rooms

GF 900 rooms

OKW 761 rooms

Poly 853 rooms

Pop Century 2,880 rooms

POFQ 1,008 rooms

POR 2,048 rooms

SSR no accurate info at this time

WL 728 rooms Villas 136

YC 634 rooms

FROM AAA

have VWL = 181 and WL = 728 (this includes 17 suites)

BWV = 533 and BWI = 380 (this includes 14 suites)

fw cabins = 409 (this figure seems large to me)

I was there, too and I agree. The only times I saw lots of people: (1) mid-afternoon at the volcano pool (the quiet pool was always quiet) and (2) up by Ohana almost any time. There is so much room and so much lovely landscaping, a beach, etc. I'll tell you a little secret: We were in Tokelau and there is a beach not very far away. We were always the only ones there....to watch Wishes, to get some hammock time, etc. We're talking the week of Thanksgiving, the place was booked solid and we had that particular bit of beach to ourselves.

then go with OKW - you won't believe hardly anyone else is there.

OKW has a lot of villa - 761 - but it is very spread out.

WL/VWL also makes you feel that way (if you avoid the swimming pool - can be very, very crowded). Just don't go near the food court at breakfast.

POFQ - that would work too. swimming pool this is a big hit with little kids, with teens and older not so much. so if a bunch of little kids are here, you won't believe the noise at the pool. if a greater number of teens - what noise? Anyone over the age 8 - this pool is boring. Would also avoid the food court during breakfast.

just avoid the value resorts - they are definitely people everywhere - even my favorite Pop Century - you will see and heard people.
