To save some money on soveniers - whic Disney outlet store is closest to WDW ?

We would need to take and pay for a taxi (maybe less expensive from Downtown Disney).

Disney's Character Premiere store, located at the Orlando Premium Outlets
or
Disney's Character Warehouse store at Prime Outlets Orlando, Mall 1

Thanks for your help.

The Orlando Premium Outlets are closer and even have shuttles that go around Orlando. That would save you cab fare! I dont have any exact info but here is the number: (407) 390-0000 ext. 2.

Directions from Walt Disney World: Go east on E Buena Vista Dr. Take the ramp towards I-4/Airport/SR-536 and merge onto Epcot Center Drive - Epcot Center Drive will become FL-536, which in turn becomes World Center Drive. Turn left when you reach Internal Drive. Turn left when you reach Vineland. Enter between Bass and Mikasa. The store is next to the Food Court. Located very close to Walt Disney World. EST distance: 7.46 miles, EST time: 11 minutes.

That is a good store in the prime outlets that is across I-4. There is another one that is at the end of I-drive (towards Universal.) They each have different things and if possible it is worth the trip over. We go to both a few times during our visit. I believe that I was told that they recieve 2 shipments a week?? Once on tuesdays and then again a few days later. We have gotten some really great stuff. ENJOY!!

On the main DIS page - there is a BLOG about the shopping outlets.
For some reason my computer will not let me read the BLOGS - I get an open error.

Could someone cut and paste the BLOG on this thread. Pictures can be omitted - I would just love to read the BLOG.

Thank You !

Premium Outlets are closer to Disney, they are basically located between DTD and Sea World. When coming out of DTD on Hotel Plaza Blvd.make a right on 535 go under the I-4 overpass and make a left on Vineland Ave. which will lead you right to the outlets.Prime is located at the north end of International Drive,to get to those hop on I-4 and get off at Universal Blvd.turn right on Universal and then left on International Drive which will pass first by the Festival Bay mall and then Prime outlets at the end of the street.

I would love to know more about these shuttles. We take a taxi from DTD. Not a long drive, but with tips (hit traffic on the way back last year- bad timing) it cost nearly $40. Now I don't mind for a day out, but if I can get a shuttle cheaper .... :rolleyes1

Are they PO's own shuttle service (I know that Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlets has their own).

There is always the Lynx, that you can catch at DTD. THat is what we plan to use. I think that it is $2/person. Just search Lynx here on the DIS and you will find posts with lots of info!

Ok just got back from the outlet on Vineland and WOW WHAT a zoo. Imagine MK on the busiest day, it took 20mins to get a parking stall. THe outlet store was ok nothing special. They had some good deals on some stuff, but IMO I would pass and stick to buying online. The one thing that is nice they do have the "Walt Disney World" merchandise. The whole outlet area was just packed full today so maybe it is not like that all the time.

I never go on a Saturday. I think that could have something to do with it, add to the fact that there are still many people on vacation in Orlando at the moment. Hope you got some nice things to make it worth the trip. :)
