Which Dinner Show?

My boyfriend and I have booked a package with the Silver plan for our trip in September. I've read that a good use of the wishes for the plan is to go to one of the dinner shows. I've also read that most people enjoy the Hoop De Doo Revue more than the Spirit of Aloha. But I wonder which would be better for us...

The boyfriend and I both are Lilo and Stitch fans and the boyfriend has early childhood memories of staying at the Poly, so I wonder if the Spirit of Aloha would appeal more to him than the Hoop De Doo...

What do you all think? Which dinner show is better, and why?

Thanks!

We enjoy Hoop Dee Doo b/c we enjoy the humor and corny jokes. We also love the fried chicken and ribs! Each time we go to the show we laugh as hard as we did the first time we saw it.

Of course such things depend a lot on personal preferences, but we like the Hoop-Dee-Doo better.

We've done the Luau twice and haven't done it in many years. You have to remember it's outside and only as good as the weather.

Since your BF has good associations with the Poly I would go with the luau. Of course, I have never been to it, and I didn't care for Hoop De Doo. It is VERY corny. Hopefully more people will give their opinions.

Thanks for the responses!

I was thinking that the Hoop De Doo, while widely said to be better than the Spirit of Aloha, would be too "corny" for the boyfriend. Well, maybe not... he does still watch a lot of cartoons. ;) But I get the impression that it's geared more towards families with lots of participation for the kids. So maybe in a few years when we've got kids of our own... ;)

I think we're going to book the Spirit of Aloha... That is, if I still can... We leave 4 weeks from today! I don't think I'll have a problem though, because, from what I've heard, the week after Labor Day is a generally slow time of the year.

Keep the opinions coming though, I'd like to know what other people think about these shows!

Thanks!!

Our family ages 18 - 50 have done both the Spirit of aloha and the HDDR. We will never do the Spirit of Aloha again, I was very disappointed in the show and the food, and the HDDR was great, we had no small children, and we had alot of fun.
