Hello everyone! We are going to WDW in September and I wanted some advice on which dinner show to book? :goodvibes We are staying at the Poly, so is the Aloha Dinner Show good? Or should we do HDDR or Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

Thanks:thumbsup2

We have done the Aloha show once and HDDR twice. We really like HDDR - food was good and the show is great.

I too prefer HDDR. We always enjoy it -- both the show and the food.

Never been to SOA, but HDDR is a must do for us every trip.:thumbsup2 It's a great time for all ages and delicious comfort food.:goodvibes

Have never done the Mickey's Backyard BBQ, but I would say of the other two HDDR is better do to the food choices. We enjoyed the show at the Aloha Dinner but the food not so much so. We also had a front row table at the Aloha show which made it more enjoyable but if your family are picky eater, go for the HDDR.

I have only heard great things about HDDR, one was even from a die-hard I hate Disney person

We are doing the Spirit of Aloha show in September with the kids. I picked it because we are going for our 10th wedding anniversary and we honeymooned in Hawaii so I thought it was fitting

We've done HDDR several times and it's always a crowd pleaser (to us anyway). We had ages from 4 to 64 and everyone liked it, even a teenager.
That being said we sat next to a single mother and her two girls and it was like they were being tortured.
It's a nice show, a little hokey, but in about 5 mins you realize it's just the right amount of hokiness and begin clapping along.
It was also the best fried chicken. Another plus is that Beer and Sangria is included- a favorite with my DH.

Enjoy!:rotfl:

Thank you so much for everyones answers!!! I think I'm going to try to book HDDR tonight!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I  The Dis & all of the people here!!!

HDDR is the only dinner show we do every trip. Yes it is a bit hokey but that is part of the fun. Even my teenagers still love it!!

The results are currently closer than I thought. 27 for HDDR, 1 for each of the others. :lmao:

Have not done the Mickey's BYBBQ, but we have done Spirit of Aloha and Hoop Dee Doo. In my opinion the Spirit of Aloha is ok but can't compare to Hoop Dee Doo which we have done several times and plan to do it again during our trip next year. It is enjoyed by all ages and the food is excellent. It has been running since the opening of WDW in 1971...what does that tell you? I'm sure you will enjoy whichever you decide. Good luck and have a magical time!:wizard:

We felt the Aloha show was entertaining but we loved HDDR! Since the BBQ is seasonal we don't seem to get there in time to see it but maybe this year.

Our family did not care for the Aloha show. We found it too long. We personally won't do it again.

I've only ever seen the HDDR and I can honestly say that I'd never had so much fun watching a dinner show. From what I remember the food was good. But I was there strictly to laugh, stomp and yell. The food was just an afterthought to me.

We did the Luau 12 years ago. I'm sure a lot has changed since then, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I wasn't impressed. The show itself was great, but the food was not so good. Also, the show was LONG. I was falling asleep!

We did HDDR a few weeks ago and loved it. The food was excellent and the show was hilarious. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
