Me, my DH, & DD3 are going to Disneyland May 8th & 9th. I am going to attend each park one day. I need advice from all the experts. Should I attend DL on Thursday which is early entry or on Fri which is open till midnight. I want to go when it is LEAST CROWDED!!!
THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Thursday is gonna be less crowded then Friday even with EE. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days at DL.

Any chance of making your tickets a hopper? I say that because IMO you can spend a lot more time in DL than DCA. It would be nice to have the option to spend a bit more than a day at DL.

If not, then I would say it would depend on your kids. Are you kids early risers? Or are they night owls? If they do better getting up early but get tired early, then I would do DL Thursday. If they are night owls, but might be hard to get up and get going, then I would do DL on Friday.

Thanks so much for the FAST reply. I really don't want to spend more on the hoppers. I will not be able to do the EE so I was just worried that by the time I get there on Thursday & am an hour later than everyone else it will already be crazy Busy!!! But, I know that Fri. will be crazy busy too. Right now I am planning Thurs. for DL & have already got my reservations for character meals to work out with this but just started getting worried. Thanks again!

I would say go on the Friday but then again this is my own opinion. I find (in off season) thursdays to be a bit slower then a friday but not by much.

For me I would work the friday because the park is open later and if Fantasmic or the fireworks are playing you can catch one of those shows. Collect fast passes all through the day and use them later when its a bit busier. Less hassle less wait.

I would definitely pick Thursday. A weekday in the beginning of May is a good bet for a less crowded day.

I guess I will stick with my instinct & go with Thursday. If anyone else has more input I would love to hear! Thanks!!

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you have to buy at least the bonus with hopper passes to be eligable for EE? If that is the case, and you aren't buying hoppers, I would do DCA Thursday and DL on Friday with the longer hours. There is a lot more to do in DL than in DCA, the extra hours will help.

Personally, the way that DLR is set up, I will only visit using hoppers. It is so convenient to go over to DCA mid-day. With those two days, I would get a hopper, go into DL for EE, then finish the day at DCA. Then on Friday I would be at DL for open, then move over to DCA for the afternoon, and go back to DL for the evening parades, shows or fireworks. :goodvibes

What's the price difference? I would agree with those who think park-hopping is best use of your time and money. You might make up for the cost with what you can accomplish. It's one thing if you are on a budget and can't afford it, another to not want to spend the extra money, figuring you are getting the same thing just in a different way...I think DCA gets boring after a while and it's nice to mix it up bouncing back and forth.

Ok, Here is the deal! I am going to have hopper passes. SORRY!! However, I am still not able to attend the EE due to the fact that I am only going to be going for two days. I still want the least crowded. I am not really concerned about having those extra hours, it would be nice but I am all about less crowds.

So then tour DL (not fantasyland or Nemo) on Thursday. On Friday morning arrive early and do Fantasyland/Nemo, then hop over to DCA for the afternoon, and return to DL for evening entertainment. That's what I would do.

Ditto. :goodvibes If DL ends up to crowded on Thursday, you can go over to DCA for the mid-day, see shows/parades, then go back for the evening.
