Which day should we go?

Hi everyone - just wondering if anyone had a suggestion for which day of the week we should visit. We are headed to Orlando from Aug. 10-14 - wed thru Sun. Only planning one day to see Harry P but wondered if there was a better day of the week - i.e. a crowd calendar?

In your situation, I'd shoot for the Thursday. My logic is that Fridays and Saturdays should be avoided year-round--I almost never hear crowds are light. Assuming they are your arrival/departure days, I would avoid Wednesday and Sunday so as not to shortchange the experience. Summer crowds should start to die off about then, but it's tough to tell.

I agree with the dates your going Thursday is your best bet to beat the crowds.

During summer travel, the crowds are going to be heavy as is. We went last year the week before Christmas when Orlando's crowds are supposed to be slow and The Wizarding World had a line EVERYWHERE. They had roping set up for lines as if it was a ride, just to enter the candy store, olivander's wand shop and a few others.

Since it's summer, I'm assuming the wait will be even worse than I experienced, but the weekend will definitely be worse. Travel is higher and all the locals who work their mon-fri 9-5's, venture out on the weekends too.

It's worth the wait though!!

Then Wednesday is a good choice too. Don't know if the difference between Wed and Thurs would be enough to matter.

go when it is best for you and your family.


if it were me, i would not wait until the last day there to do the parks.

i would go the first opportunity for a full day.
if we liked it, we could then return another day.

if it was sunny for the first two days there and poured rain on the 3rd day, our last day there, i would not be happy.



go wednesday, and then you can go again on thursday.
just upgrade your ticket on wednesday while still in the park.
that way the ticket for thursday will be cheap and a deal...

Yeah me neither, it seems to go both ways. Some people claim since kids are off over the holiday, the week of christmas is busy and the week before slow. But yet there's many families who want to be home for actual christmas, so it'd make sense the week before would be busy also.
