I'm trying to plan our trip for next year. But I keep going back and forth on the dates. I really want to see Christmas decorations. Meaning at the parks and resorts. I want warm weather and low crowds. ( Not asking for much). Which dates would you choose...
11/9-11/21 or 11/20-12/2

We will be going to stay in Dayton for a few days as well to visit my MIL. So we would go after our WDW stay in the first week or before our WDW stay in the second dates.
Thanks for the help and advice!!!!

For either of those dates xmas decorations will be up. The second Hallw is over, they put xmas up-we were at GF from Nov 1st-Nov 9th. (bc nov 1st they still have MNSSHP) (MVMCP begins I believe the 2nd week of Nov) When we got there, the World was full Hallw-the next morning, Xmas was being installed. The winter lights were on the castle Nov. 8th. In Dec there would probably be more overall.
As far as temperatures its anyone's guess...but Nov. is MUCH more likely for it to be warm.
In Nov of this year, 1st-19th, it was between 75-85 each day and we swam 4 times. The evenings were beautiful, short sleeves were fine.
I was there Nov 30th-Dec 4th and it was 70-75 each day, but a cold front came in and went down to 50 at night. It was freezing, we had to go to DTD and buy sweatshirts and jeans for me. We swam twice, bc the pool is heated year round to 80 degrees, and it got just warm enough in the afternoon for DD.

Another thing I didn't think about is the daylight. When we went in Nov it was light out until almost 7. In Dec it got dark around 5:30. If that matters to you at all. For us, it meant more pool time.

I didn't vote because I don't know the date of the American Thanksgiving, but I agree with poster who said avoid it :thumbsup2 So go with what ever dates avoid the holiday weekend, crowds and prices will be horrendus.

We go in Jan, and love it. Lower crowds, low prices, and the weather can still be good. Mostly the weather is in the 70's, and sunny. But a cold snap can come in, usually doesn't last long. For the exception of the Jan 2010 cold snap that lasted for 2 or 3 weeks :scared1:

We've swam lots in Jan, mid day is the warmest.

I would normally choose December but the dates listed that end Dec 2 covers the Thanksgiving holidays which means 4-5 days during those dates would be soooo crowded so you would not get much quality park time. As the previous poster said, you may get to enjoy the Halloween decorations and the Christmas decorations along with warmer weather and lighter crowds during the first set of dates. So my vote is for the first set of dates.

You are more likely to get warm weather earlier, so I chose the first one.

Thanks for all the advice. I was leaning towards the first week but I was afraid to miss christmas decorations. We normally go in Oct. I think we'll go for the first week n spend more time at the in laws n maybe try US out for a day.

Definitely the first choice, in order to avoid Thanksgiving. Temperatures will be good, parks will all be decorated, Osborne Lights will be operating.

we go every year the first two weeks of Nov. The temps are great, usually high 70's-mid 80's. Crowds are good. Food and Wine Festival, Osbourne lights, many holiday decoration are up by then. Christmas Party. You get the best of all and low crowds.

By choosing earlier date you avoid crowds but can still get Christmas decorations and food/wine festival which is awesome!
