which Dapper Day Dates? end of feb or begin of march?

We were looking to go back out to Cali next year. I was hoping to do Dapper Day, it always looked fun and would take me back to our dating days with dh.

I am stumped on dates. I am having a hard time getting the March 1 official date into the mix with flight schedules etc. Do they do anything at the end or beginning if you are not there on the official day or weekend? Do people dress up during those weeks? What if you book the DLR hotel but are not there for that March 1 weekend?

Crowd wise which is a better date to choose? Flight wise it would work best if we were there right at the end March 3-7. Last week of Feb. might work

Also do they still do the swing dancing in Downtown Disney on Saturdays? Do things like this pop up more during Dapper Days?

Based upon previous experience of two dapper days, there will be SOME dapper people on the neighboring days to the actual event, but the actual day of the event is where all the activities happen. I'll be there 2/27-3/1 with the family. Looking forward to my third Dapper Day. I think we'll only do the spring DD going forward because this past DD in September was EXTREMELY hot.

The calendar on the hotel booking page for DapperDays goes from February 22, 2015 through March 7, 2015.

However, in order to qualify for the reduced DLR hotel rates, your dates HAVE to INCLUDE at least one of the DapperDays. For spring 2015 those dates are Feb 28th and/or March 1st.

The first few days of online reservations there was a glitch in the system. Some lucky people were able to make room reservations without including one of the event days. Disney has since fixed the issue and if one of the DapperDays dates aren't included you are not able to complete the reservation.

Crowd wise there seems to be several things happening the end of Feb and early March. Disney Diva's, Dapper Days, Cheer Camps to name a few.

We're going March 3rd thru 7th too. If I had my choice I'd choose different dates. But I'm tied to the grandkids school schedule.

As you have probably read here on the board, the parks are busy most days now. If you want to visit DLR, pick your travel days and go from there.
