Hi

I just got a call from dreams unlimited and they said they have been trying to contact us about our cruise next year.
We we're on the 4 day sailing in sept 06. this was a few days after our disney wedding. We can't change to a different date as there isn't a 4 day sailing in sept only a 3 and we've decided this isn't enough time. So my question is which is the best cruise line to book with? Nice rooms, good service etc. any suggestions are appreciated.
Totaly gutted I must say!! :rotfl2:

What about a 7 day? I know that it might seem alot more, but you have a whole year to pay for it? What about taking the 3 day and adding one day at Disney?

As far as "other" lines *poo-poo* I have heard RCCL is nice

I haven't traveled with them, but most of my friends swear by Carnival. If you are getting married at WDW they will be close by. Carnival sails from both Tampa and Port Canaveral, as well as Ft Lauderdale.

I would not suggest Queen Mary 2 (Cunard). The service is horrible and the rooms are dirty. I personally will never sail on her again. A friend of mine, who is a travel agent, was on the maiden voyage and 2 others since then. She says that the service gets worse everytime she is on it.

Thanks.
This will be our first cruise and we're not sure if it's for us? Thats why we only wanted to try it for a few days first!! We will be in Orlando for a total of 5 weeks so money and time is not an issue, just want a taster but on a nice ship.

Thanks

Sam

We've done NCL and Carnival. NCL was awesome! Carnival was flashy and we felt like we were a heard of cows (too many people). We did not like Carnival (but that is because it is not our style). It depends on what you are looking for. If you like Disney, then my vote would be that you take the 7 day! You will love it. I've also heard good things about RCCL.

I understand your uncertainty about cruising, I never thought it would be something for me. But my wife and I did one DCL cruise with our daughter last year and we loved it so much we decided to try an adults only cruise on Celebrity. Celebrity was absolutely fantastic. The service was very much the same as on DCL, with every crew member going out of their way to make sure we were happy. Since you say time and money are not major considerations, I would recommend trying a one week cruise. In both of my experiences I was nowhere near ready to leave by the end of the week.

After Disney, I would try Royal Carribean.

Our first cruise was with RCCL and they hooked us on cruising.

They show you a fun time.

We have sailed on Carnival which we thought was "OK" but then we sailed on the Grand Princess and loved it. October will be our first time on Disney.

If you are looking to do a short cruise from Florida, your choices are probably limited - Carnival, Royal Caribbean and maybe NCL. Between those 3 I would choose Royal Caribbean. The ships that are used for the shorter cruises are the older ones. I think Royal Caribbean has put more work into refurbishing their older ships. I think atmosphere-wise Royal Caribbean would be more like Disney than Carnival is.

You can't go wrong with Disney. So if you can make it work, it is sure worth it. We stayed in a category 11 for a 7-night, and it was a lot cheaper than one of the nicer rooms. Even though we didn't have a view, we loved every bit of our cruise. It was the best vacation we've ever been on, now we're hooked and will be going again this October.

One of the things that I love about Cruises is that you can go to many destinations on one trip and only unpack once. Since money and time are not an issue to you you may want to check out sites like http://www.cruisenetwork.com/ This site lets you look cruises by destinations, departure port, and/or cruise line.

Perhaps what you and your fiance may want to do is sit down and figure out where you would like to go on your cruise. If you are in Central Florida you have 4 ports that aren't too far away (Tampa, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami) You have a lot of recomendations from this thread on the cruise line to choice. This way you know what all of your options are and can choose the cruise that is right for you. (Just because you use websites like this to look at cruises doesn't mean you have to book the cruise through them.)

Let us know what you decide.

You could probably take a 7 night cruise on RCI's Mariner of the Seas leaving PC for the same price as the Disney 4 night. Check it out. We have taken two cruise. One DCL and one RCI.

I just checked the web site where my husband and I book our non Disney cruises. I put in September 06 and found 4 day (inside) as low as $259 per person and 7 days as low as $529 per person.

We've been with P&O and are going on another cruise with them next week. Their sister company is Princess and friends have done several cruised with them and rate them highly.

We're actually doing the 3 day Disney cruise next June as a taster to see what it is like in the area and if we enjoy it we'll do a 2 week cruise with P&O or Proncess in 2007.

Hi - You will LOVE it whatever you choose!!!

As a veteran cruiser, I'd recommend, overall, RCCL for service, upkeep, price.

If $ is an issue - which you say its not - Carnival has a decent product, too.. just a bit "less" than some others.

My personal experience with NCL has been.. terrible - there is very little you can do to make me not enjoy the food on a cruise and I am pretty easygoing about service, too - NCL failed on both counts.

I agree with the previous poster about Celebrity - a very special experience - Top notch all around. BUT - I don't think you can get one of their ships from PC or Tampa.

A less-than-ideal cruise ship, however, is better than a day at home, IMO....

I think you will find RCCL's prices comparable to Disney and likely , less...

Enjoy!!
