We are looking for a new cc. We only have a discover and that isn't taken everywhere. We pay it off every month so which card is best for rewards any ideas?
O also no annual fee please.

Depends on what you buy and what kind of rewards you want. For example, I haven't flown in 8 years so miles/free flights are worthless.

What I currently use: Amex Blue Preferred. There is a $75 annual fee. The Amex Blue has no annual fee. Perks to the preferred are 6% back on groceries up to $6k, 3% on gas, 1% on everything else (the Amex Blue is only 3% on groceries). We're a family of 3 and don't spend $500/month on groceries, so I max out the groceries reward by buying gift cards to places I would otherwise be shopping at (Home Depot, Target, Lands End, Amazon, Disney, Gap, etc.) Then I'm getting 6% off the gift cards plus fuel perks. Amex has amazing offers. I've probably used $150 worth of offers since November. Last week I got a $100 amazon gift card at Staples for $75. I also saved $25 off at Amazon, $15 at Costco, > $50 on gas at BP, etc. These offers plus the 6% back on groceries make the $75 fee worth it for me. Plus when I signed up I got $150 reward so my first two years were basically free.

For other categories that only earn 1%, I am using the Capital One card with no fee that gives 1.5% on everything.

What works for me may not work for you.

Do you want Disney Rewards? Airline miles? Cash back? A points program that you can redeem for gift cards or merchandise? Or maybe a card allows you to pay yourself back with the rewards you earn by using them as a statement credit? Are you willing to pay an annual fee? If so, how much? Do you have an excellent, good or moderate credit rating?

Go to any bank's website and look at their rewards credit cards. Or use a website like Bankrate.com or CreditKarma.com to compare cards from various banks. It will give you an idea of the vast array of offers that are out there.

I really like Chase Freedom, which is very similar to Discover in that it has bonus categories each quarter, and since it's a Visa, it's more widely accepted. They've had sign up bonuses of up to $300 cash back too, which is a great deal. There is no annual fee and you do get 1% back on everything that isn't in the bonus category.

We have a Capital One World Mastercard that has 1.5% cash back on everything. No annual fee.

I have noticed with the Discover card that if you don't spend much in a month, you only get .25%. That's not great.

The best deal I have heard about is the Fidelity American Express Card. They deposit 2% of your charges into a Fidelity account.

I have had the Chase Freedom card for less than a year now and I am more than happy with it. I've racked up a decent amount of cash rewards with it. I use it to pay for everyday expenses like gas, groceries, etc... and then every two weeks I pay back what I have charged to it. I also have a Citibank card that earns points instead of cash back but I much prefer using the Chase Card. I like having the freedom to use the cash rewards how I want. With my points card, I can only use the points as discounts towards gift cards. I find it disappointing actually. I actually just cashed out what I had accumulated on my Chase Freedom and used the money on my Disney trip two weeks ago. :p

The other card I have is the Chase Southwest Visa. More than happy with that one too. I have my household bills setup to be autocharged to this one. I accumulate quite a few points for flights doing this. They offer a great miles bonus on signup, but you have to catch the offer at the right time it seems. This one does have an annual fee of $69, but I would rather pay that than $300 - $400 for a ticket to fly somewhere.

I guess it really all depends on what kind of rewards option you would like to have. There are many rewards cards to choose from. I would try comparing them all to see which one you find the most appealing.
