Which character breakfast should we skip?

Help! We love them all, but one needs to go!

That leaves:
Crystal Palace - never have done for breakfast before. Really want to try the french toast there. Though would prefer a later start to the day that day, and doing CP gets us moving a little earlier than we'd like (reason why never have done before - both trips we've had it booked and cancelled last minute to take it easy that morning instead!)We are also doing dinner at CP. But really want to finally try their breakfast!

Cape May Cafe - have done before and really enjoyed. Is easier for us to get to breakfast there, and then head on to next resort for our split stay and have more time at new resort.

Tusker House - haven't tried yet, and really want to try it. But, would be on our split stay day, and then takes away swimming time at new resort. Not big fans of Animal Kingdom - would be going in there to do Tusker House, Kali River Rapids, maybe try Primeval Whirl and take a quick stroll around to find DeVine and some other things. Will be quite rushed this day - hoping we don't have to wait too long for our table?

We have that are keeping:

1900 Park Fare (daughter really wants Alice)
Ohana's - a must for us each trip.
Playhouse Dis (other daughter wants, and skipped it last trip)

Chef Mickey's, Akershus, CRT - doing lunch at all three of those, as can't fit them in for breakfast. Also have dinner at CPalace, Park Fare and Garden Grill. Can ya tell we love the character meals?:rotfl:

If you have a pre-opening ADR at CP, I'd skip Cape May. If not, I'd skip CP. I hate to use those precious morning hours sitting in a restaurant for an hour. Now, come the heat of the afternoon, I am totally ready to sit in some AC for an hour!!

no, they'd all be in the 10:30 range - we like 'em late - kids need a later start to get them through for fireworks every night!

I would skip Cape May as you've done it and the characters aren't "unique".

CP is a very nice b/fast. It's so pretty inside. The food & characters are good.

I'd drop one of the meals at Crystal Palace. The characters are the same both times so I wouldn't do breakfast and dinner there. I love Cape May and would not drop that one!

I would give CP a try. The french toast is wonderful. You can always leave earlier and head back to the resort for a swim.

We do TH every year because we are breakfast people. Plus we enjoy getting in all the character meals. Also we only hit AK once so we put in a whole day there. It's not one of our favorite meals. It's your basic breakfast fare. Nothing special about it...like the fench toast at CP.

Good Luck... Happy eating.

I haven't eaten breakfast at all of the places you are looking at, I have only done CP, Ohana and TH for breakfast, but of the three I probably wouldn't do Tusker House again. The food was just OK (our least favorite of the 3) and the charachter interaction was rushed, which is a common review of TH. At the other locations the characters were able to spend time with the kids and interact in silly ways. But at TH, they just seemed to want to take a group picture and then move on to the next table. TH is also cramped. They packed way too many tables into that place. Daisy Duck's butt kept hitting us becuase she didn't have enough room between tables to visit the table next to us. Considering that you don't really like AK anyway, I would drop TH. As for doing 2 different meals at CP- I would definitely do it, they have great food and awesome charachter interaction and it is a nice looking restaurant too.

I would wait and cancel one while you are at disney since you never know how you will feel.

I"d skip tusker house - for sme reasons a pp mentioned- mediocre food, so so service, rushed character interraction, and loud.

I would dump 1900 PF and visit Alice at Epcot in England

May I ask where you are staying on the second half of your split stay? Is it an Epcot area resort? You mentioned the convenience factor. (I apologize if I missed this fact in previous posts).

I also noticed that you have a trip planned for Thanksgiving time. Where are you staying then?

For some reason, I'm leaning towards saying do Cape May or Tusker House this trip, and CP breakfast next trip. The Magic Kingdom is just so amazing during the holiday season that I always want to spend more time there. So a Crystal Palace breakfast on that trip would be great!

I know what you mean about starting late and about Animal Kingdom. The good part for you is that you'd be coming from the All Stars (I think), which is sorta close to AK, taking you less time than if you were headed to AK from a MK or Epcot resort.

I have done very few character meals recently, so I am not commenting on the quality of the interaction or food, just the logistics and the sense I am getting from your post. I think you really want to go to Cape May! ;)

Well, if did Cape May - usually we just take a quick cab ride over to there, so would be cabbing it there from ASMovies. Though, we have local relatives with us with a car that day, so whatever we do that day, we'll have a ride. our next resort will be Pop - and then we're off to POFQ for our last night (yeah, we like to bop around a bit!)
Original thought was to skip Cape May, though we regularly do that, and save it for November - and in November do Cape May on our Epcot day, see the decorations at the resort and make our way to Epcot just by taking a walk to the international gateway (thought the kids would like that, hey, where are we going?... hey, how did we end up in Epcot!?)
Cape May would be easier on our split stay day - just gives us more time at Pop when we arrive there to relax, as opposed to spending time at AK. But kinda want to do Tusker House, as haven't yet and want to get it out of our systems to try it out finally!
Crystal Palace - really, to me breakfast buffet food is breakfast buffet food anywhere we go. Pretty much eat eggs, bacon, potatoes. Nothing too fancy. But darn, really want to try that french toast at Crystal Palace! that is the only reason wanting to go there! Anyplace else serve french toast like that?

CP not only has the French Toast, they have an omlet bar.

My family's favorite meal at Disney World is breakfast at CP. I would keep that one.

I was going to say 'O Hana as we think it is the worst character meal on property, but I see you like it, sorry about that!

Would definitely keep Crystal Palace as they have a good character meal - great characters and pretty consistenly good food. Also, a great atmosphere as you can see the castle!

Cape May is a favourite of ours as it's small and great characters, but it is at a resort, so that might pose problems for you to get there. Although if you are Epcot, you can just walk through International Gateway to get to Beach Club, as you mentioned.

I would have to say probably Tusker House as this restaurant is very chaotic and very behind. Just ate there again yesterday morn, and they are always behind as AK doesn't allow guests past the Tree of Life between 8:30 - 9:00 for park opening due to safety reasons (truck is there with characters in it). This means that for approx. 35 mins each morn, the restaurant can't get guests into it, and the tables get stacked up - this happens each trip and I just spoke to the manager about it again yesterday, and she said it's their biggest problem that they can't do much about. The restaurant recommends getting to your early morning ADR between 8:25-8:55 approx. 30 mins early. This is too early for us, so we won't be making any ADRs here until after 9:10 am. Great character interaction though (it is rushed at times), but the food isn't that great thought, IMHO.

Sorry for the ramble, but this info might be helpful to you, Tiger

P.S. Good luck in making your decision - we like character meals for the great character interaction in an air conditioned environment!

Crystal Palace brkfst is a must do for us each trip - love the puffed french toast & the bright/open atmosphere of the restaurant + the character interaction is always good there.

I would also skip Tusker House for the same reasons a few pp have stated. We have done this brkfst 3-4 times and it has been consistently the worst character interaction (very rushed!!) of any character meal we've done - and we've almost done them all. We also don't care for the atmosphere which consists of cramped seating in a small room.

Thanks for the opinions, guys!

Really comes down now I think to ditching Tusker House, or not. it is later in our trip that we have it booked - it actually will be our 11th character meal of the trip, LOL, and just wonder if worth the aggravation of going into AK, walking all the way through to AK to get there. The music/parade looks to be cute in there - but the kids usually don't participate in them, and thinking that since it will be their 11th character meal of the trip, they definitely won't be interested in that!
So reading some comments that they get backed up in there.... we have a 10:25 ressie for a party of 6. Think we'll have a good bit of a wait for a table? Really wanting to get in and out of there quickly that day, eat, be out, quick stroll through AK and be at the bus at 12:00, 12:30 the absolute latest. Just not sure if it's worth it to finally try out Tusker House or not.

Friends of mine just went and said it was their favorite breakfast of the entire trip. It is something we want to try at least once - really comes down to the only character meal we haven't tried - except Crystal Palace for breakfast - have done dinner there every trip.

I'd say TH mainly due to the fact that the others are easier to fit in. This is one we are definitley doing, but the others fit in more with your itinerary.
