The Fuji one I've got isn't that old but isn't that great - has a delay between pointing and it taking the pic.
I'm wanting some fab disney pics ie. the kids with characters etc. so I think I need a different camera - which ones do people have?
I'm probably gonna have to buy second hand off eBay as only got around £50 to spend.
I asked something similar a while back and vaguely recall someone saying Sony cybershots are good?
Would ideally like something where night shots turn out well too x

I can vouch for the Sony Cybershot. We have 2 (one is a little older, 10x Optical zoom and a new one that is a 16x zoom) and honestly, they both take excellent daytime photos. Super easy to use, little delay.

But we can rarely get a great night time photo...a few random ones here and there, but it's tough. I'll be interested to see what others suggest. :)

Something with which you can change the shutter speed etc. I was going to take a tripod with me but after a practice run of night time shots in London without one I'm going to leave it and try without.
I use a canon eos 450d it's not compact though.

Have you played around with the settings? My compact camera can change the shutter speed - put it on sports mode if you are not sure and you should be able to grab the photo faster :-)

You won't get really good night shots with any compact until reach you the prosumer level of something like the Sony RX100 - they don't have anywhere near big enough sensors.

A DSLR or a good CSC will give you best results and some of those will actually cost you less than the RX100, but most will cost more.

I got a Canon Cybershot.. Haven't been to Disney with it.
But i made photo's at a musical event and it worked great. Now i finally have a camera that can keep up wit the parade :)

Quick question re the zoom function - I like the idea that they zoom in so much but does the photo quality stay the same when zoomed in?
The camera we have now has about 5 x zoom however the more zoom you use the fuzzier the photo becomes.
Ideally want something good for the parades etc. do the cybershots have video too?

Check the optical zoom verses the digital zoom. The higher the optical zoom, the better quality photo. I don't like my digital zoom at all for the same fuzzy reason, but I dont find daylight shots too bad. For night shots, I find my Galaxy S3 phone does a fab job!
