Hello this is our first trip to wdw. We will be going May 18-24. We will be staying at por. I would like to hear everyones oponion as to whether they like magnolia bend better or alligator bayou better and why. thankyou. ::MinnieMo

We're pretty informal people so we liked Aligator Bayou better. We stayed in bldg. 27 and it was great. It's quite close to everything and is surrounded by other buildings so even the standard views are of greenery and not parking lots. I'm sure someone will recommend buidking 14, but as we walked past it everyday it seemed pretty noisy and in the middle of all the hubub. If you like that, then go for it. We had a toddler with us and liked our quiet room for afternoon naps.

Have a great trip!

We've stayed at Dixie Landings (oops, POR), several times, and whenever we stay there, it is a family fight regarding the mansions or AB.

I like AB better--it is closer to the food courts, and more convenient. Also love the landscaping and winding paths. My better half likes the mansions, because they are more elegant and open.

Here's a link to the resort map for building selection:

We prefer Buildings 14, 15, or 18 in AB or either Oak Manor or Magnolia Terrace on the mansions side.

I believe I have heard that there has been some newly renovated at POR. Does anyone know which ones? Also how long was it to each park at differant times of the day from POR?

All rooms at POR have been renovated. It takes on the average between 10 to 20 minutes to each park by bus depending which stop you get on at.

Thank you for your reply. For some reason I was under the impression that it could take up to an hour at differant seasons at differant times of the day from some resorts. Is there a differance form the Yacht club? POR sounds nice for the money. We have a variety of ages. I was thinking of going out early, come back to the resort for awhile(naps, pool) and then go back out to the parks. But I was starting to wonder if there was alot of time wasted in transportation?
