Looking to purchase an actual book to read on upcoming trip. Is The Unofficial Guide to Disney 2015 or Birnbaum's 2015 WDW The Official Guide the best?
I used to always recommend the Unofficial Guide to WDW. Bought them myself for many years. But I now really like the Easy Guide to your First Walt Disney World Visit. One of the authors is Josh from easywdw.com
The Unofficial Guide has been such a valuable resource for me. It is well organized, with info on every topic, down to fast pass kiosk locations. Ive been using the 2015 guide, bookmarked many pages, and taken lots of notes.
I used the Unofficial Guide many years ago. It has a wealth of information. A lot of it is unnecessary information if you are focused on WDW.
Like others here I am a fan of the Easy Guide to Your first visit. I have visited the blogs for both writers. I tend towards visiting easywdw.com more often since Dave is set up more for first timers, though has been branching out.
Both the Unoffocial Guide and Easy Guide are excellent. I like Birnbaum's guide as well; it has some wonderful photos and is a good basic for first-timers.
An inportant issue for me is that the Unofficial and Easy Guides are available as e-books (specifically Kindle); Birnbaum, to my knowledge, is not. The Unofficial Guide, especially, at 800+ pages, is not a book you'd want to tote around!

I've been a lot since the 70s and I still buy a new guide every time--the Unofficial Guide is definitely my favorite. They don't hold anything back. They tell it like it is and that's what I want. You spend a lot on a Disney vacation and you hate to make unnecessary mistakes.
