Which beach to visit/resort on beach?

We're starting to plan our trip for next year to Disneyland. We're looking to stay at a resort on a beach for 2 nights, then Disneyland, Grand Californian for the rest of our stay. Does anyone recommend a beach and/or resort on a beach for us to stay? We'll be traveling w/our DDs then 5.5yrs and 3yr. We were looking into a ritz carlton in laguna as an option. Not really concerned with the price, just want a beautiful hotel, nice area, nice beach. Any suggestions? Thanks!
