Which All Stars Resort?

My family (DH, myself, DS 8, and DS5) and friends (Mom, and DS5) are going on DCL in January. We want to stay at a resort a few days prior to the cruise. I have never stayed in any of the All Stars and I'm looking for opinons from everyone. I was thinking Sports because we'll be traveling with 3 boys. But they all like movies (especially Buzz Lightyear) and would probably love the new POP Century. Can you see fireworks from any of the resorts?

If you get the right building at POP..there is an EPCOT view which you can see fireworks from.

As far as the AS's..we stay at the sports..because it is the first one in as you enter the all star area.

I stayed at the All Star movies with my Fiance and his parents and his brother and his bro's fiance two years ago and had a great time. We stayed at the Toy Story section and it was super-cute. Has a great time and tooks lots of pics. But I don't believe you can see any fireworks. There pretty far out there.

I'd try to stay at the POP - from some rooms in 50's, building 2, you can see the top of IllumiNations and fireworks in the distance. It was nice. We were in room 2456.

It's not a far walk from the food court or bus - maybe 5 mins.

You could put that in your room request. Of course, fireworks are not every night during value season. IllumiNations is every night

Thanks so much for the quick replies. I thought it would be fun to see the fireworks but no big deal. I'm more interested in a resort the boys will have fun in.

All star Sports!

I've heard All Sports was really neat. The other thing to note is that Pop is very popular right now thus very busy i.e. crowds in line at bus stop; pool.

My girlfriend loves the Sports themed one. I'v never done a Value resort, but I've got the bug and they have some awesome room rates going on, so I'd like to check out the buzz.

Another friend of mine did both moderate and value, she says the pool theme is really the only difference. She loved the value resort. She too stayed at All Sports.

I'd personally go for less crowds if at all possible. The fireworks can be seen up close and personal at Epcot. Go for the Sports theme. That's my vote.

I didn't even think about POP being so busy because they are new.

With 3 young boys I would definitely choose Sports! We stayed on site for the first time last year and I arranged for us to stay at Movies in the Toy Story section because all 3 of our boys were huge Buzz and Woody fans. They loved AS Movies but really flipped out when we visited sports! They even asked "how come we didn't stay here!?". So much for all my planning!

I think the kids will love any of them. Good luck!

We have stayed at Sports and Movies. I liked the theming at both; however, we will only stay at Sports from now on...
The buses pick up at Sports first, then Music, then Movies. The buses drop off at Sports first, and so on and so on. Staying at Sports saves a lot of bus wait time. A lot of the time the buses would be full from just Sports and Music by the time they got to us at Movies and we had to stand or wait for another one.

I have stayed at Sports and thought it was ok, but just ok. Surf's up buildings look great but the feature pool didn't have anything special that I noticed.

The Fantasia Pool, the fantasia kiddie pool, the playground are all great. The Home Run pool (Sports) vs the Duck Pond (Movies) is really a toss up for me.

If you want fireworks, lake view, twister game, CM dances, surrey bikes etc go to Pop Century.
