I am having a really hard time finding decent flights for our trip in August to WDW. We will leave around Aug 22-25, and return around Sep 2-4.
We can fly out of Calgary or Edmonton.

We want the cheapest, but shortest flight available. (of course!!)
Also-not huge layovers, but not so short that we could miss our next flight, or have to change planes in a hurry.

We have only flown Air Canada and Westjet---Which US airlines are good? Do they have the tv screens on each seat? Is it really complicated?

I heard Toronto airport is a huge scary confusing nightmare. True?

Any help would be greatly appreciated--we are not experienced fliers!!
Thanks!

We just booked Northwest from Regina to Orlando. We found them to be the cheapest and they had the best flight schedules. They don't have TV's on their flights however. I'm pretty sure they fly out of Calgary, and probably fly out of Edmonton as well. Their website is www.nwa.com.

I think America West also flies out of Calgary/Edmonton, but I have no experience with that airline. Their website is www.americawest.com

Normally I fly WestJet, but they're flights are quite high right now, and with their schedules, I'd have to either overnight in Calgary, or fly Regina->Calgary->Toronto->Orlando, which makes for a long day. Air Canada is even worse. For a decent priced flight when I want to go, I have to go Regina->Vancouver->Toronto->Orlando. No Thanks, I'll pass, lol.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a PM!

We live in Edmonton and our Dec flights are booked with Alaska Airlines. We fly to Seattle first departing at 6:30 AM and leave for Orlando at 8:40 AM. In April 2005 and March 2004 we flew to Anaheim with Alaska through Seattle and we were very happy. I don't know how they compare price wise, 2 flights all taxes were $1472.00. If you have to transfer I would choose Seattle over Toronto. Hope this gives you some more information.

We live in Edmonton and on our two previous trips to WDW we flew Continental and Northwest. I'm currently looking to book flights for our upcoming trip in October but can find nothing under $700 pp + taxes round trip at the moment, so I would say that $1472 Can'twaittogo paid is a reasonable price. My husband and I do prefer flying on a US airline.

Why do you prefer flying on a US airline??

I am debating between Northwest and Aircanada right now, they seem to have the shortest flights, best times, and best prices. Still looking though...

Westjet is great, so is Jetblue. Air Canada......ugh...but they have back-up aircraft if there's any delays.

Beware any flights connectign through Washington, D.C....security out of Canada into there is a NIGHTMARE!

Yes, Toronto Int'l is awful...I would travel from Buffalo any day!

I avoid the Toronto airport as much as I can. We live in Nova Scotia and if I cannot get a direct flight, I change in Ottawa or Montreal. The Toronto airport is a nightmare;it doesn't even have good signs l. Last year when we had to go through Toronto, we thought we must have walked too far until we finally came accross a sign made out of cardboard and written in pen. You'd think if they could afford the expansion , they could at least afford better signs or at least a marker.
