which park do you think is the best to tour when arriving in the afternoon. epcot or DHS

Ages? Interests (thrill rides/shows/etc.)? Will you have FPs?

Because you used the word "tour", I would say Epcot. If you're just looking at walking around.
But like the above post says "depends on your interest".

I, personally, prefer EP in the afternoons/evenings. We always do EP as our first park on arrival day, so typically we don't get there until about 3 pm. We just find afternoons there to be more relaxing. It's fun to do some attractions and then stroll through WS during the evening. On our last trip, we also did an afternoon in DHS and TSL, in particular was jam-packed. We had also done an early morning there and that was far more enjoyable as the lines and park areas were less crowded and we could really enjoy the design detail, in particular, in TSL.

I would go with Epcot. You can do the iconic Spaceship Earth (unless it is during refurbishment time). You can have a nice relaxing meal at a number of great restaurants, there are some other great rides if some of your group wants to do that (Test Track is always a family favorite ... could be because engineers (Mommy) can beat a CPA (Daddy) any day of the week with car design). You can walk around and explore the different countries. Plus, if there is a snag in your travel plans, like a later than expected arrival, I feel like Epcot will still give you a full experience. While if you really want SDD at DHS and you miss your FP then what are you going to do?

I think it depends on how early of a night you want. TSL looks great at night, and you really need 2 evenings there if you want to see Fantasmic and the Star Wars (or JBJB if nov/dec) fireworks. If going over the holidays, nighttime at HS also has a bunch of Christmas decorations and the projections on ToT. If it your only day, it might be difficult if you are trying to do the rides and some of the shows.

If you are flying in, it might not be a good idea to book ADRs which would be why I would want to do Epcot at night. The park is open later though if you are not going to be tired out from travelling.
