I posted this yesterday on the restaurant thread and haven't gotten any replies, maybe you guys could give me your thoughts and experiences with theses two adrs.

I have two ADRs I need to decide on.

Askerhus at 8:00am or 10:55am? Which would you do? Please don't factor getting up early in your decision, well be up early anyway. My concern is feeling rushed thru the 8am one and feeling anxious about getting to Test Track at rope drop. I also wanted to snack around WS for lunch that day, so the early breakfast is better for that. Any tips on an early pre park adr at EP ? What are your opinions on this?

The second one is Tuskers house at 8:00am or 10:50am? Usually the 8:00am is a no brainier here, it accomplishes so much. But the day I was able to get the 8am for is not my ideal AK day, I got the 10:50am that day. My thoughts are we could get FP for all of us for the Safari and have my husband and son head straight to EE and ride it. We could then head back around to Tuskers at 10:45am for breakfast. Thoughts on this please? We usually are out of AK by 12:30pm anyway. Any tips on a late Tusker breakfast adr?

What would you do? Any advice?
Thanks

I haven't done Akershus, or a before park opening ADR, but I didn't particularly like the late morning ADR at Tusker House. We didn't end up getting up early enough that day, and by the time we got into the park, we didn't have time for much before we had to check in.
I also expect it would be difficult to fit in any shows if you're going to be leaving by 12:30.

Normally, I all about the earlier the better. But it in this case of Akerhaus, I think you are better off with the later one. You will feel very rushed and won't make TT at rope drop. Then you risk the chance of your FP not being until early afternoon which hurts your WS touring.

As far as Tusker House, is go for the 8. Assuming this is a 9AM opening day, you will get out right around RD and be right near the safari. Instead of getting a FP, just ride it right away, then send DH and DS to EE.

We're big fans of the early breakfast route. One aspect of arriving at a park to do a few things before an ADR is that you are constantly watching the time, stressing about what you will or won't be able to fit in before you have to check in at the restaurant -- it's a reality for lunch and dinner ADRs, so we opt NOT to have to deal with that for breakfasts and go for the earliest times. Also we've found that we all just feel better starting the day with real food and not rushing right into the park experience....

Haven't done breakfast at either location but I have done both the pre-park opening and late breakfasts at Crystal Palace. Although I loved getting into the park early, personally, I preferred the later time. You can get in, ride a headliner or two, grab some FP's then dine. I much prefer it to feeling like I need to hurry up and get out into the parks once they open. These meals are meant to enjoy the experience and you pay too much for them to rush!

Can you snack around WS for dinner instead?

This reply doesn't help your ADR decision but may give you another options for a few days of touring.

We do a completely different routine. We have breakfast in the room or villa. Sometimes hot or cold depending on were we are staying. Then we head to the parks for RD. We have either TS or CS lunch in the park.

I have done early TS breakfasts in the park and I found I do not really enjoy it as much as a lunch or evening TS meal.

Could you TS breakfasts be changed to lunches ?

Would you consider staying the whole day at ak? We did a lunch at tusker and it was such a nice break, we loved it! Even on a low crowd day it did take awhile to get seated and ot get through the Donald photo line. I think it took almost 2 hours all together. We were there at rope drop went right to the safari my kids were too young to do EE. We had an 11:45 reservation for lunch and it was great!

I think it boils down to 2 things:

1) How much would you value empty park photos on the way in?

2) How much will it hurt your touring the rest of the day to use a big chunk of time sitting down for an ADR during park hours?

If you do decide to go with the 8 AM Akershus, just try to be at the gates really early (since you say you're early risers anyway) so you're some of the first into the park and some of the first ones seated.

I am a huge fan of the late breakfast/brunch ADR. We had 3 ADRs around the 10:40/10:50 time slot on our last trip. We stayed CL so we would grab fruit and a quick breakfast there before getting to the park at opening. Get some good rode times in and then relax for brunch. To me when I 1st get to a park I am ready to go and don't want to eat 1st thing. Certainly everyone has their own preference. I would try at least one of the late breakfast times and see what you think.

This was my plan too, I had an 805 ADR at Tusker. Until I Found out they changed the opening time from 9am to 8am. And then I opted for a 945 ADR instead. That way we could hit the park at 8am and could do KS and EE before we eat.

I usually really like and try to get the 8 a.m. ADR, but I was also stressing out about getting to Fantasyland in time after CRT this fall, as well as getting up that early, which we sometimes have a hard time with. I am planning to go for a 10:30ish ADR and make it more of a lunch. We usually eat lunch shortly after 11 anyway, so I am kind of looking forward to trying it out. I do really enjoy the World Showcase before it opens, but that's anytime before 11.
