Which accessories are the must haves for the Wii? Our local future shop has a bunch in selling at 8am tomorrow. Dh is going over to pick one up for ds13. I would like to know which accessories are a must have and which ones are a waste of money? TIA

FYI, the Wii only comes with one each of the two main types of controllers. I am also interested in what people have to say about this one, because we are in the same boat.

Wii comes with one controler - if you want to box you'll need a nunchuck and you should get at least one more of each so 2 people can play at the same time.

other accessories - well you can get (for about $25) covers that make it look like a golf club, tennis racket or stearing wheel but it's not necessary to have it - infact i've already bent the strings on the tennis racket because i was standing too close to a chair when i went in for an over hand smash - oops

you should get the rechargable batteries for each unit and the battery charger - that way you'll save on all those AA's

save your money on the accessories and rubber covers (which are cheap and fall apart way too quickly) for the games - they aren't cheap

We bought Wii play because it comes with the extra Wii mote and and extra nunchuck.
We also bought a charger for the Wii Motes. We got one that has the charger connectors on the back of the Wii Mote and they work great.
( Nyko was the brand)

We also got a wireless router so that the Wii can be online.. and the points cards too.

Questions - I thought the Wii system came with a nunchuck?? Do we need anything else to be able to play our game cube games on it? will our game cube controllers work as well? Does it come with all the cables and such to hook it up?? I wasn't going to open the box before Christmas b/c I don't have a spare moment without my kids here or daycare kids here that would blab or insist that it really wasn't from Santa!

We bought Wii play b/c it came with a controller then we bought an extra nunchuck. I got my mom to buy the kids the steering wheel and a racing game.

Hopefully that's all we need.

If someone could clarify...

The Wii system ( that was $269.00 - I bought from Walmart) should have the ONE controller AND one numchuck... correct? I have mine wrapped , and that is what I was told I was getting.

I also bought the Wii play , and was told it only has ONE controller, NOT the
nunchck. I need to buy that separately.

I really don't want to unwrap the stuff......:confused3

We bought Wii play b/c it came with a controller then we bought an extra ey fly out the door. Finally found one in stock on at EB games. A standardnunchuck. I got my mom to buy the kids the steering wheel and a racing game.

There are ports on the top of the Wii for Game Cube remotes & memory cards.

I would set up and test the unit prior to Christmas to ensure it all works.
Here's a link to an earlier post of mine in another thread

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.ph...12&postcount=7

I started looking early September. I would check Wal Mart, Best Buy, TRU. Zellers etc. When the Wii's arrive th system with 1 controller, 1 nunchcuk and Wii Sports. I picked up Wii Play which comes with 1 controller at Zellers for $49 & a nunchuck fro $25.

If you find a unit once you get it home and test it. The night before Christmas set it up so when your kids wake up it is ready to go. If you're not accustomed to hooking things up it may take a few extra minutes and you'll need to configure the internet connection and any extra remotes.

Wrap up the controllers so they have something to open. Make it the last gift they open as once they know there is Wii in the house they'll be gone.

My suggestion is to call or visit the stores regularly. See if they will take a deposit so when the unit comes in you'll get it.

The closer we get to Christmas harder the Wii's will be to find.

I would pick up an extra nunchuck, some two person games require the Wii mote & nunchuck for each player.

set the stuff up and test it. See above

The wii comes with the remote and numchuck and wii sports. If you want more than one player you have to buy another remote (approx. $40) and another numchuck ($25).

save your money on the accessories and rubber covers (which are cheap and fall apart way too quickly) for the games - they aren't cheap

Nintendo is offering free covers if your system did not come with one.

My system came with a cover but my Wii mote in the Wii play didin't.

Keep an eye on the Toys R Us flyers because they often have the accessories on sale. I know 2 weeks ago they had the remotes and nunchuks on sale which saved about $5 each.

Excellent tip. Zellers has Wii play, Game & Wii remote, on for $49.99 regular $59.99.

If you take the Zellers flyer most big stores will price match.

We finally gave up on standing in the future shop line they only have 25 per store here. We got him a gift card so he can get one after Christmas:goodvibes

Does anyone have the sports attachments which includes tennis racket, golf club, bat and steering wheel? Which game do you use the cross bow for? Thinking about adding some last minute accessories.
