Which 3 days? Wed to Fri or Thurs to Sat

I have an opportunity to go to Disneyland for three days the end of January 2025.
I know the hours can be limited through the week along with entertainment.

Here are my two options:
1. Arriving Wednesday January 29th around noon and Departing 5pm Friday January 31st.
2. Arriving Thursday January 30th around noon and Departing 5pm Saturday February 1st.

What do you see as the pro's and con's for each time?
From my memory the parks generally close around 8pm week nights during this time of the year.

For those that know the parks well what do you think the hours will be for the parks on these days?

The biggest con is nighttime entertainment if you don’t have a Friday/Saturday/Sunday night in your itinerary. If you don’t care about seeing Fantasmic or fireworks, then leaving on Friday will probably be the most productive for getting rides done, and you possibly will be able to see WOC during the week. If you want to see fireworks, you will likely need that Friday night to see them.

Friday night will likely also have DL open till midnight and DCA until 10 pm. The other days, you are probably looking at 9 pm for DL and 8 pm for DCA or possibly 10 pm/9 pm.

Last year, there was also a special ticketed late night event in DL on that last Thursday of the month (Sweethearts Night), so DL closed very early to regular guests.

Does the race weekend factor into your plans at all? The Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is 1/30/25 - 2/02/25.

I'd go with Th-Sat because you might get better night time entertainment and hours.

Friday is my favorite day for the parks. Everything is open and it's not as crowded as the weekend. Although, with race weekend, it's probably going to be crazy.

Anytime other than summer I reccomend going over the weekend. Crowds don't really vary that much and you will typically get the full range of entertainment options which you do not get during the week.

I missed that this is marathon weekend. Eep. Idk. I would never miss nighttime entertainment Fantasmic, but that's me. In this scenario I'd personal pick different dates based off my personal preferences- but good question so you have all the data to inform your decision!

With it being RACE weekend, I'm going to look into other dates.
