Day 5 Monday 16th July ‘07

Me – Disney fanatic - I stomped through Disneyland Paris in 1994, since why come to a theme park when you’re in Paris, yes really! Favourite PM
Diane (DP) – Long suffering Disney widow, buts loves it all anyway. Favourite BTM
Morgan (DD9) – 9 year old Disney fan. Favourites now RnR, BTM, Pirates of the Caribbean
Jack (DS) – 7 year old Disney, Star Wars fan. Favourites now BTM and Star Tours Autopia
Robyn (DD5) – 5 year old Disney fan. Loves parades and Casey Jr
Tom - TomTom sat nav that will get a full workout this trip, so on today

We wake up and the weather has changed from the high 30°C’s to 18°C and rain.
Decide that we’ll head to the shops at Val d’Europe and La Vallee. Followed by some groceries from Auchan.

La Vallee is a very nice shopping area. Very clean and pristine. Reminds me a lot of the outdoor shopping experience of MacArthur Glen. I remember Mike’s tip about no photography and spot the sign saying this is not allowed. Seems a very strange rule for a shopping place :confused3
Apart from my Starbuck’s double latte we don’t spent anything else here. The threat of rain; without the protection of cover, and having 3 kids in tow who are not in the mood for shopping means that we don’t spent as much time browsing as I suspect.
As we walk into the Val d’Europe the heavens open. And I mean open. The rain is bouncing off the pavements. Looks like we could be in here for a while.

The shopping centre is quite busy, considering that it is midweek.

When the rain abates we dash out to the car along with our food shopping. Tip keep a €1 coin to hand for the shopping trolleys.

As the sun comes out the troops enjoy playing with their scooters around the ranch and later on we head down to the play area to let them get rid of some energy.

Unfortunately we are missing quite a bit of photographs. Old computer did not have space and I left them on DP’s camera memory card. As you’ll have guessed the card was corrupt and we lost over 400 photos :sad2:

We head down to the Disney Village at night and everyone spends a fair bit of time buying and browsing through the shops.

An early night is planned since we are aiming for EMH tomorrow.

Sounds like you had a nice relaxing day. Such a shame you lost so many photos. You have a good excuse for repeated trips until you have taken twice that many to compensate.

:offtopic: My husband is a surveyor and has been approached a few times in shopping centres by burly security guards - all because he has been spotted on security camera taking photographs of the outside of a shop. He knows nowadays to visit the security centre first to show his ID and explain what he's doing or they can get quite shirty.:confused3

Your children are adorable.
Such a shame about the photos but as Bev says more reason to go back and take some more.
Great TR, look forward to reading the rest :)

That is a shame about the photos:eek:

It looks very relaxing at the cabins though :lovestruc

What a shame about the missing photographs, I loved Davy Crockett when we stayed there in 1993 - back then they were running shuttle buses from there, now I'd have to drive and I'd be a hazard to everyone!
Looking forward to day 6 and the EMH.

Really enjoying you trip reports and photos. The DCR looks brilliant I thought it would be difficult driving there and getting to and from the park but it sounds really easy. Been showing dh your trippies and he said (if I want) !! :lmao: we can go for summer 2009.:cool1:

It is a great, relaxing destination :goodvibes

thanks, these trs are great, lovely family!

Thanks for the compliments. The troops tell me I'm lucky to be their dad, so I might hold off letting them know what you all think of them :rotfl: ;)

The Crocs were bought in the Disney Village. In spite of my concern we did not hear one cheep about sore feet the entire holiday :) Disappointed that we only managed to get 1 new pair in the Disney Store sales so hopeful that the girls will get new ones in the summer :)

Thanks for the link Cathy, but unfortunately they only want the official Disney crocs since they have the Mickey head holes :)

There are Disney ones on ebay too if you're ever stuck.

love the photo of the girls with Sleeping Beauty, too precious! Sorry you lost so many others though!

The ranch definitely seems relaxing :thumbsup2 just wish they still ran that shuttle bus.

Shame that you lost so many photos. :sad2:
