'Where's your prince' and will this tale end 'happily ever after'? Sept 11 - Complete

What an awesome day in DHS! I love the theme of TOT I just have a hard time with the drops. I ride it for Sam, but I'm kinda glad Kadence isn't intrested yet!:thumbsup2

We had the same waitress at 50's PT in Jan! We were actually glad she was more mellow. It was fun watching others get force feed their veggies, but I didn't want it to happen to me!

Poor Zaheer, not top score on TSM. I understand I always want to be high scorer in the vehicle!:rotfl2:

Thanks! I don't mind drops so love ToT but I guess if you don't like them it's a completely different story! Lol am sure Kadence will become interested one day but in the meantime enjoy the break from this ride.

I guess if you don't want the antics then she is a great waitress, however we wanted to be involved in the fun and games!

:rotfl: I thought you might understand! I can't relate as I go into this ride thinking I'm going to be last so anything extra is a bonus! I actually improved my previous score this time round and was quite proud.

I agree with Lights Motors Action. Honestly, to me it's the kind of show that you can see once and be okay with it. It's just not my type of thing either. There are many other things I would rather do at DHS.

Sounds like you guys had a good DHS day in general. No worries about holding on for dear life on ToT. It takes a while before you stop doing that.

I'm glad you agree - the show just didn't appeal to us. It was nice to watch once but it is the only DHS show that we would not rush to watch again.

It was a great day! Phew...I can't wait until the day I have my hands in the air and am not clutching on for dear life!

Sounds like you guys had a great day!

Too funny that the "chicken exit" is an elevator! :lmao:

I'm not a LMA girl myself, will happily skip it every trip.

Too bad you didn't have a "fun" server at 50s. I'm thinking about it for next trip, but it's hard to tell what mood my DD and DH will be in at lunchtime :lmao:

Can't wait to read more!

We sure did!

:rotfl2: That sure is funny...luckily Zaheer is not afraid of elevators but imagine if someone was! I wonder if they have an alternative exit to the 'chicken' one.

I think I might join you on LMA - will be skipping it for a while.

I think you guys should be okay especially with DD - kids seemed to get a lot of attention. However, if DH and DD are not in the mood you could just ask to be seated in the side room and be served by Cousin Kimberley.

Great Update, love the Parade pics, I loved that parade! I love the Up! characters and the song is very catchy. Too bad you weren't thrilled with the Lights Motor Action show, that is one I haven't seen yet, we missed it on our last two trips.

Thanks - it sure was a great parade! I loved the Up, Monsters Inc and Toy Story characters as well as the people in between on stilts etc. The music sure is very catchy - I was singing along throughout the parade and everytime I watch the video it's in my head again!

You made a good call skipping LMA - however it would probably be okay once in a while.

Great day at DHS! Love your parade pictures....Boo is our favorite from Monsters Inc!

We didn't get to LMA this trip and I have to say I was disappointment, it is a show that I do enjoy! The last time we went it was just far too hot so we decided to skip this year for all our sakes:lmao:

Too bad you didn't have a server who got into the theming at 50's...we've always been lucky (expect the trip I went with just my bff) it was always one of Jasmine's favorites because the adults usually got picked on more than the kiddies!

Great DHS update, I love that park! :)

Ugh, I can't stand that Disney Channel show...when we see that thing coming, we take off in the other direction!

Yay, more ToT! I can't believe Zaheer didn't try it, it is so much fun! :scared1:

I'm sorry your waitress didn't do any of the antics at 50's PT, but I would have been happy with that! I would love to eat there, but I don't want to be yelled at, or poked with a stick, or made to sit in a corner...I just want to eat!

We went to the 50s this time around and it wasnt too exciting either, I was disappointed I was hoping there would be more antics! When I went in 2009 with a big group we had a great time

Aww bless Zaheer, least he tried. I love the photo he got of the ride though, am right there with you for not holding my hands up :teeth:

I love the TOT picture--It looks like either you or someone near you must have been screaming for the family to look over...:lmao: I think I am too afraid on that ride to actually scream. All my energy is devoted to the handles!

It stinks that you didn't have any interaction at PTC--I think that it shouldn't matter where you sit unless they tell you ahead of time. This is a worry of mine because of my girls being shy (and also at times illbehaved at dinner...). I think since I will be preparing my family for the antics they will then be upset if there aren't any!

Great parade shots--I think I will angle my camera for some shots--I love this effect in your pictures.

Overall, sounds like a great day!

Ah, thank you! It's too early to know if it's a boy or a girl -and we'll wait til June to find out :)

Thanks Queen! That parade was awesome and I would happily watch it again on a future trip. I remember when it was announced that Countdown to Fun Parade would replace Block Party Bash and some people were disappointed. Although I've never seen the old parade I loved this one and being able to see Boo from afar.

It felt hot when we were at LMA so I can't even imagine what it would've been like when you guys were there in August!

I am so returning to 50s PTC one day with my little sister. If it's adults that get picked on I don't understand why they leave adult only groups out!

Lol, I thought it was okay but probably because I have to watch quite a bit of the channel anyway as a result of my lovely sister.

I loved ToT but can understand Zaheer not wanting to try it - think he would have literally killed me if I had dragged him into the 'proper' elevator against his will! :rotfl2:

It's okay...if that's what you like you would have loved our experience at 50s PTC. I think it was because we had built up a mindset that we were going to be involved in antics so when we weren't we were just a little confused by the situation :confused3

We went to the 50s this time around and it wasnt too exciting either, I was disappointed I was hoping there would be more antics! When I went in 2009 with a big group we had a great time

I felt exactly the same Shannon! I wanted the antics and the only thing we got were plates at the start of our meal - then it was non-existant. I have heard big groups get quite a bit of attention at 50s PTC - either that or kids...will just have to make sure I meet this criteria next time round!

Aww bless Zaheer, least he tried. I love the photo he got of the ride though, am right there with you for not holding my hands up :teeth:

I know...I can't really hold it against him as he did try quite a few attractions that he normally wouldn't even go near such as certain Mountains!

Thanks - when he took the pic of ToT and I saw all these people with hands in the air I was a bit disappointed but one day I will get to that point as well!

Thanks Debby! I was definitely not screaming - just laughing a lot (which I do when I do not know what to expect) and focusing all my energy on the handles as well! :lmao: I'm glad it wasn't because they thought I was too much of a 'chicken' to not have my hands in the air!

I know...I was so bummed that we did not get any antics. Like you said we got our mind all prepared for being picked on and then got nothing :confused3 I really hope you get the antics but I have heard it is normally guaranteed if you are with kids so am sure your girls will be involved in the antics.

It was a great day and I didn't even realise I was angling my camera - just too busy shooting away!

Ah, thank you! It's too early to know if it's a boy or a girl -and we'll wait til June to find out :)

You're welcome! Oh, how exciting! I hope everything goes well for you and look forward to finding out the news in June :)

I'm back from my trip and caught up on your DHS posts :) Sounds like a great day, and it makes me happy to read about Disney World again. I did ride ToT on Wednesday since RnR coaster was closed the day we were there. I felt like I had to at least do one of those two. I ended up loving it, as did my brother. But I think he did end up with nail marks in his arm from me clutching his arm during the drops!

I'm sorry that your meal at 50s PTC didn't include all the fun antics :( I guess they just assume that a party of 2 adults may not be interested but they should have given it a try.

Great updates! I am all caught up. Yeah! So glad you loved ToT and rode it twice. Poor Zaheer. I know how he fells. I am a big ToT chicken, but I force myself to go on it and always come off laughing.

Sorry you did not love the LMA show. I didn't realize there were characters in it from Cars. How cute. Obviously its been awhile since I've seen it.

It sounds like you had a great day and got to do just about everything. No wonder you were giddy! You had yet another cute T shirt on today!

I've been MIA for awhile... but I'm back, and all caught up!

Sounds like a great day at HS! We missed the parade this time around... in fact, we didn't watch it on our trip last year, either.

I feel the same about LMA. We missed it on our '07 trip, so I made sure we saw it last year (especially since DH was a bit bummed to have missed it the first time). I was surprised at how much we did enjoy the show, but it's not one that I think any of us would have to see again.

Welcome back - I'm looking forward to reading your TR! :thumbsup2 It was a great day and am glad you are made happy by reading about Disney World again. I wish I could take another trip this year. but I know it's not going to happen.

Yay on riding ToT and loving it. Lol at your brother ending up with nail marks! :lmao: I'm sure I would be the same if someone was to ride this attraction with me.

Yeah, am guessing the same - that they assume we wouldn't be interested but I think they should either ask or at least give it a try. Oh well...one day I will be involved in the antics!

Thanks! I could've happily ridden ToT more times...I loved it! I'm glad you understand how Zaheer felt and a big :thumbsup2 to you for forcing yourself to go on it even when you don't love the ride.

I only found out on here before our trip. I think it was changed because of Cars 2 so it hasn't been that long. I hope you get to see it on a future trip.

It was a great day and lol I guess that did impact our behaviour! Thank you - I loved buying all my shirts.

Oh, I hope you get to watch it on a future trip as we loved it and I think it would be something your girls would enjoy.

We enjoyed LMA and glad we saw it once but feel the same way...think it's one of them that once in a while isn't bad but we couldn't do it on numerous occasions.

We woke up for 9am and took our time getting ready. We went to Everything Pop and got a Pop Waffle with Strawberries and Cream with some coffee (of course!) and an apple juice for Zaheer. I think he also got a turnover.

371-1.jpg

So, although I would rather have watched the football Zaheer was really looking forward to the water parks and after him going to the the other parks with me it was only fair I returned the favour and went to TL - this decision may come back to bite me later though! :lmao:

The bus took 15 minutes and we got in pretty quickly.

DSCF1205-1.jpg

We got changed, found a chair to put our towels and stuff on before heading to the wave pool. We took a couple of pics before heading to the wave pool.

DSCF1207-1.jpg
DSCF1208-1.jpg

We spent a bit of time here but the waves weren't coming in heavily so headed to the lazy pool which is my idea of heaven! Sorry but we do not have many pics as we never ended up buying a disposable waterproof camera. I will share some pics from Google instead. We did a couple of laps of the lazy pool and I would have happily stayed but Zaheer wanted to return to the wave pool.

The waves were now coming in thick and fast which scared me a bit.

imagesqtbnANd9GcRsKqxGkQjBMr2e5UoM2SR6se5SzC6hmdcOP_K66OLsD_c0V3Os4g.jpg

I grazed a nail (which is still bruised) and didn't like the waves at all. Zaheer convinced me that going further into the pool was the trick and I decided to believe him. He said he'd hold my hand so I would be safe! So I went forward thinking I would be fine when a strong wave hit us. Of course the result was that Zaheer had to let go of my hand and I went under, hit my knee and choked on water before returning to the surface :scared1:

That was it...I was so out of the wave pool!! I came back to our chair put sunscreen on and waited for Zaheer. He loved his time in the wave pool. We decided to go on Gangplank Falls. We were in the queue when it started raining. Some people left but we decided we were wet anyway so would continue to wait. We loved this and would have happily gone on it again.

gangplank-falls-1-1.jpg

We then decided to head to shark reef. Zaheer had to go and get a life jacket so I headed on alone. I didn't enjoy this as I couldn't use the snorkel properly and salt water kept getting in my mouth. I tried locating Zaheer after leaving Shark Reef but couldn't find him anywhere. It started raining heavily and I was slightly getting worried. I finally managed to find him and he told me that they had to shut down Shark Reef because of storms being predicted.

We headed back to our chairs and decided to take cover under the tree.

DSCF1217-1.jpg

It was at this point I wish I had stayed in the room or gone to Boardwalk to watch the football instead. I was ready to leave but Zaheer wanted to wait the rain out. Twenty minutes later we decided to run to the changing rooms, get dressed and leave. We decided to head to DTD and as we were leaving the rain got lighter. Whilst we were waiting for the bus to Saratoga Springs an announcement was made that the storm had passed and everything was operating again. Trust us to get stuck in a storm at Typhoon Lagoon of all places! :rotfl:

The Saratoga Springs bus took forever getting out of the resort (we weren't used to stops within a resort!) however it took literally a minute to get to DTD. We enjoyed our time at DTD a lot more today as we were not tired from a 9 hour plane journey. We ate at Wolfgang Puck Express and enjoyed listening to Part of Your World and Circle of Life whilst eating. We had the four cheese pesto pizza which was a bit heavy (I preferred the veggie option) and then the creme brulee for dessert. Zaheer loved this however I preferred the cheesecake.

DSCF1225-2.jpg

After eating I took a pic of Zaheer before heading to Pin Traders. I just wanted to see all the different options available and got my picture taken with Donald and Daisy Duck.

We went to TrenD and then Fun Finds where we bought two photo albums, a four parks jigsaw, Marie notebook and a Princess and The Frog sticker set (will share pics later).

I then went looking for a Minnie headband at World of Disney.

DSCF1245-1.jpg

We took our time exploring the shop and taking some photos along the way.

More coming up...

I tried on quite a few Minnie ears before settling on the last one. It was a great buy as I used it quite a bit during our trip. If only I could wear Minnie ears every day :rolleyes1

After buying the ears we headed outside and took in our surroundings.

Our next stop was Goofy's Candy Co where I felt spoilt by all the choices! In the end I went with a fudge slab which was very yummy! :thumbsup2

374-2.jpg

We headed to the bus stop, got a bus fairly quickly and looked at our photos on the way back.

DSCF1282-1.jpg
DSCF1283-1.jpg

We got to Pop and informed the chef of wanting halal chicken for our evening meal.

We rested in the room for a bit before heading back to DTD for DQ - Zaheer loved this place and the water parks. I think he would be happy spending two weeks just at DQ, TL and BB!

We took some photos of DTD lit up - it looked very nice.

This pic is a bit blurry but I like the effect.

We were told by a CM that Buzz Lightyear Blaster was the best place to start. We headed here and there was a bit of a queue. We waited and got in a car. This was okay but I didn't enjoy it as much as it was raved about.

I then wanted to try and get a Chocolate Butterfinger Cupcake as I had not succeeded at DHS. I went to the cafe and lo and behold although it was late they had every type of cupcake going and loads of them as well. I was so tempted to get more than one but in the end decided to just use one snack credit and get what I had come for.

384-2.jpg

We played a dance game, some air hockey and then went to Magic Carpets which was fun.

377-1.jpg
378-1.jpg

We returned to Pop and had our dinner.

380-2.jpg

Zaheer headed to our room and I decided to spend some time exploring the shop. I saw some pizza plates I liked the look of as well as some other things but decided to return later with Zaheer to purchase them. I returned to our room (taking a couple of pics along the way) and noticed that my left leg was quite swollen whereas Zaheer was fine. The only thing he hadn't done was Shark Reef so I was a bit worried that I had been bitten by something. Luckily the swelling slowly died down and I didn't have any other symptons.

Coming next: Our plans were to head to IOA but did this end up happening?

Can't wait to hear if you made it to IoA- I enjoy our time there!

We have never been to TL or BB or DQ for that matter! I don't enjoy waterparks all that much, and the wave pool sounds scary!!!

I could float in the lazy river all day!:cloud9: I don't mind the wave pool, but it's not my fav at a waterpark.

Glad to hear your leg was better soon!

I LOVE, love DTD! I could just wander and wander. There is so much to take in. I think WP is on my wish list as well:thumbsup2 We haven't done DQ, but maybe someday if it appeals to Kadence as we aren't gamers.

Love the Minnie Ears, they looked nice in person too:thumbsup2

Sorry about your mishap in the wave pool at TL, seems like you had fun on the other things you did. I really like those family raft rides, I was disappointed we didn't do that at BB when we went.

Oh, that stinks about the wavepool at TL. It's definitely something that you have to get used to. I've been knocked down several times in it.

Boo on getting stuck in the rain too! At least you were wet already.

Great Minnie ears. Life would be so much better if we could wear Minnie ears everyday, wouldn't it?

Yikes for being caught in a storm at TL, but it looks like you had a great time before it hit :)

Still need to try DQ one of these days, looks like fun :)
