This will be our first trip during the Christmas season at WDW. It will be me, DS, age 12, and DM. We will be staying at the Swan. Where is the most spectacular New Year's Eve celebration? And do you need special tickets?

I am wondering the same thing. I hope to stay at the Dolphin 12/27 - 1/1.

I'd suggest Epcot. This past NYE, DH and I were there from early open at 8 am through close at 1 am. The toughest part of the day was getting back to VWL after closing. If you're right there at the Dolphin and can walk over, it's a no-brainer. The park is so big that, while it's crowded, it can absorb the people much better than other parks. There is also TONS to do all day. Just make PSs for lunch and dinner, and if you can stay up late, skip the early Illuminations (it's a great time to eat dinner) and go to the late one. The crowds thinned out considerably after the first show.

We were also in epcot last nye. It was awesome! The fireworks, the music, I have to say this was one of my best NYE ever! The only part that was differcult was the way Disney handed out the hats and noisemakers. Hopefully they will change that this year. Go have fun and may i be the first to wish you a Happy New Year!:Pinkbounc :jester: :bounce:

EPCOT EPCOT EPCOT

One of the best street parties you will ever have!!!!!!

The very best (and most expensive) party at WDW for NYE is the party at the CA Grill.

We went for 1999/2000 NYE and also 2003/2004 NYE and it is beyond!

Food stations of every kind you can imagine, dancing and photos with mickey and minnie, casino party with prizes, scrapbooks and party favors to take home - and the BEST view for the most INCREDIBLE fireworks you can imagine!!!

I was lucky enough to view Sorcery in the Sky at the Studios last NYE. These fireworks are only done twice a year (July 4th, and NYE) and are wonderful. MGM did not feel as crowded as Epcot where there was a five hour wait for Test Track! Most people say pick a park and then stay there--MK closed by 10 am I believe.

We were at Epcot this past year's NYE. There were so many people a "human traffic jam" hit at about 7pm between Mexico and Norway. My wife and I were separated, each of us with one child. You literally could not move any direction for over 60 minutes. My 8 year old daughter was traumatized by the experience. We regularly get annual passes to WDW and are very experienced. I was VERY unhappy with they way Disney handled that situation and am unlikely to ever return on NYE again.
