Ok, Dis lines are officially open. Any news yet? Free dining for fall? I was able to snag fd for our october trip last month. But the free dining we got was crappy. Just not what you get in years past. QS for value or mod. If I stay at a mod I better atleast be getting the reg. dining. I was hoping for a better offer.

Good Morning! Im waiting for it too :surfweb: I know last year that the offer was QS at Value for free and the regular dining plan at the other levels. But, for a small price, you could always upgrade to the regular dining plan. Let's see what they come up with this year! Hopefully sooner rather than later. :cool1:

I called yesterday and I have a free dining pin attached to my name. It's a terrible deal though. I checked what the cost would be a la cart and my booking would be only $115.00 more than "free dining". I'm waiting for the discount or we just won't go this summer.

what was the deal? I know they had sent PIN's before offering FD QS for the moderates which was crappy seeing as it used to be Regular Dining...

The deals just seem to be worse this year. I have an AP discount booked for my upcoming May trip and was really disappointed that the discount for POFQ was only 25%. In all the years we've gone to WDW I've never gotten less than 35% off at any of the moderates. A few years ago I got 49% off at WL and also at AKL. You just don't see those discounts any more. I also remember getting 40% off the mods a few years ago.

Yes the discounts are worse Disney Resorts are Reverting back to Rack rate, they are no longer Giving away the Farm to get people to
Stay. If you had a free Dinning pin offer and it was 110 more odds are that was the insurance.. Cast members are required to Spiel Prices with insurance
Get used to the Rates that is how the Rest of the Year will be and in 2012 it will be even worse

Orbitz will be running the following promotion starting on Friday:

Book between April 1-April 30, 2011 for travel April 22-August 13, 2011
Disney Deluxe Resorts are: up to 30%
Disney Deluxe Villas are: 30%

I can't post a link because of my post count, but if you go to orbitz and find the WDW specific page, you'll see it.

So Disney won't be offering this....just Orbitz? We are PIF for our late May/early June trip. We have until April 14 to make up our minds (we've changed our ressies 3 times now...lol....).

For a deal of this nature, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that this is what Disney offers too. Specific booking window for specific dates, and 30% off Deluxe just screams Disney.

I'm really kicking myself for not booking with our 40% off PIN back in February. BUT...I would have had to do 3 separate reservations because of our dates and that just seemed like a pain in the patootie to me! ;) I might reconsider a Deluxe if the price was right for our whole stay. Right now we have a split stay at the BC (for one night) and a ASMu Family Suite for the rest of the trip.

Not sure 30% off would justify our whole trip at BC....but I'll be calling on Friday! :)

Thanks for the heads up on the Orbitz! So if we book that with the tickets deal they're offering (5 days for the price of 3), will we be able to add the DDP? We're doing character meals including CRT so DDP makes sense for us? And will we have to work through Orbitz like how it works with a TA from then on or can we call Disney directly with any questions like adding the DDP.

Biggest concern is that Orbitz doesn't allow you to enter kids on a hotel-only so I'd want to make sure Disney knew we needed 2 queens vs. 1 king.

Thanks in advance!!

I thought I would take a moment to explain something about the nature of promos so that people would stop worrying when there is a break between promotions.

A few years ago, retail department stores were told (not sure if by US Justice or consumer protection or what) that if they had back to back promos, constant promos, then essentially their prices were the discounted (i.e. the lower promo price) price and they just needed to use that price. So department stores started to make sure that they had at least a certain amount of days between promos (I think it was 5 or 10 days).

My guess is that the same rules, or similar rules, apply to the hospitality business.

On the link it also states receive 5 day theme park tickets for the price of a 3-day or add the park hopper and water parks and more and get 3 days free. Time to pull out the spreadsheets again for more Disney math!
