Where is the best place to stop and grab grocerys before heading to WDW? My plane will not be landing until 11pm so I am looking for a 24 hour grocery store that is easy to access. We are staying in a two bedroom at BWV on 02/15/04.

I like the Winn-Dixie on Apopka Vineland Road (?), just 2 minutes up from Goodings. It's a "normal" grocery store with normal prices. I took a minute to get their discount card and now I get all sorts of bargains, including 99-cent bread for my kids to feed to all the starving Disney ducks.

Folks here also love the Publix, but we've never found it. The W-D is close so we've stuck with it.

I usually use the Publix on So International Drive, I think it's probably the closest to you at BWV, I'm usually at BCV. Not more than a 5-7 minute drive. Not sure if they're open 24 hours though.

Have a great time, I'll be at BCV the week before you.

The Publix near Dixie Stampede closes at 10 p.m. The Publix at International and 192 closes at 11 p.m. Winn-Dixie on Apopka Vineland closes at midnight.

I think Goodings is still open 24 hours, but on my last shopping trip there a few years ago the always-high prices had become even higher. I used to defend Goodings on this board, arguing that I was willing to pay a premium for the convenience and quality. I no longer defend Goodings.

Actually, coming from the airport, your best bet is the 24-hour Wal-Mart Supercenter at 8101 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, 32819. I'm not a Wal-Mart Supercenter fan, but we needed a grocery store after a late flight. The store had everything we wanted. Prices are good. The store is located due west of the airport, so, if you figure out the driving directions ahead of time, it's a convenient place to stop between the airport and WDW.
