Where's the best place to buy fireworks?

I'm driving down from NJ to Disney and I was hoping to light a few fireworks on the way down. What state would be the best to buy a few fireworks cheap but good ones? I'd like some things that shoot in the air and maybe a roman candle or something.

My wife doesn't like the idea of fireworks in the car so I might have to light them wherever we stop for the night, probably in South Carolina. Is South of the Boarder a good place for fireworks?

I would just wait until I get to FL (not at Disney) to buy them and use them but FL doesn't have the best one nor the cheapest does it?
