After visiting 5 of timeshare resorts over the last 4 years I think we are ready to buy, but on the resale market. I'll watch eBay and TUG. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Check the real estate section of the Sunday papers. My parents got a time share resale for a song a few years ago.

Look into resale brokers who specialize in the resort area or system that interests you. They usually have more access to the best inventory. Learn more about it on TUG before you buy so that you will make the selection that is best for your particular situation. HTH!

Hi - I'm not sure of the name, but I remember CNN/Money Magazine or Smart Money writing an article a while ago about a couple reputable. highly rated resale firms. Maybe if you search their website, it may prove to have some good info. Wish I could be more specific.

I've read the Orlando is way overbuilt with timeshares. Witness the deals on skyacution. Some people say it's better to buy somewhere else. It's a lot easier to TRADE INTO Orlando than to trade out of Orlando.

do your research very carefully on tug - know what you are buying....

there are several people out there who (I think) are representatives of the timeshares and are trying to higher the prices - so just because something on ebay is expensive does not mean it is a good buy at all.....where others that are almost give away (under $2,000) are a great buy.

I think this same people are currently also bidding on skyauction - the Sheraton Vistana, Orange Lake - are currently being price much to high (my opinion) - in comparison to Hilton Grand Vacation Club - which is in my opinion (a much better resort). the same is definitely true of Westgate.

While some other very nice timeshare in Orlando go for nothing or just about on www.skyauction.com

you can look at
www.redweek.com
you have to join to answer any of the ads - $10 a year.

We are creatures of habit due to our schedules so I know what I want and when I want it. I purchased a Timeshare on eBay last year for cape cod (where we visit during the summer). I paid $4K for it. The retail is $18K. I know I should be able to find a good deal on a Orlando location so I'll take a look at the other suggestions. I hate to use a reseller because I know they are marking things up. The paper is a good idea. Thanks!!!

W bought the Vistana through the Timeshare Store. There was no pressure and everything went extremely smooth. Plus we got a float week that we can use any week for a really low price. Way lower than I have seen since. And we have been really happy there every stay.
