Where would you live if your email is @shaw.ca???

I have a violent ex that is trying to contact me 15 years after we broke up and his email says @shaw.ca...Where is this? Is this a company out west?

If you want to read the full story and tell me what you would do, see my post on the CB...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=10187000#post10187000

Yep..primarily Alberta. They're part of the Rogers group. (Ooops, no they're not! My bad  )

Off to read the thread....stay safe :grouphug:

I replied on the Community Board thread...

Shaw is not part of the Rogers group - Rogers traded Western Territory for Eastern Territory so, they are primarily in the West. - Hubby works at rogers been there 26 years.

Best of luck to you with your ex. If you are concerned about your safety, I'd suggest getting a restraining order that includes no direct and indirect contact, unlist your telephone, block his number from having access to your phone - Bell does this for free if you have a safety concern - As a child welfare worker I have had to use this as well.

Take care

I am sorry to hear about this horrible experience, we women do make some bad character judgements when we are young and think we are in "love", but most of us just put it in our "regrets" file and live on, they don't come to haunt us 15 yrs later.

He sounds creepy, I would think differently if he had said something like I'm married now with kids, was thinking of the bad things I did to you long ago, etc.. or I'm in AA, but the fact that he still does not acknowledge his actions makes me think he's CREEPY and obsessive, so I agree with the absolutely NO CONTACT, he would just twist it around, call the police and at least let them be knowledgeable of the fact that this person is looking to contact you and that it is unwanted. Go to Disney and let it do what it does best, leave your worries behind!

Have a great trip!

Get a BIG dog for your motel office and at home...I know it may not be appealing to customers but your safety during those hours that you are alone. Someway to protect yourself is important. I am so sorry he is doing this now, what a goof.

Sam, why don't you contact a professional and get their advice? I think that would make you more comfortable. There are so many pieces of conflicting advice on these boards. It would be awful if you followed the bad ones.

There should be someone at the police department who can help you.

I think the big dog is a great idea.

I know that this isn't going to help the cause any, but remember just because his email addy might be from out west doesn't mean that he isn't sitting down the street on his internet cellphone, or laptop. I am glad to hear that you will be contacting the police ASAP and getting their advice on this. I left my comments on the community board as to how I would handle this. Again the people that count however wear the uniform and have a badge. Best of luck..........

SnowWhite, very good point about that e-mail addy. He could be sending it from anywhere.
Sam, make sure you point that out to the police.

We used to have Shaw Cable here in SW Ontario ... southeast of London. I don't know if they have been bought out or not, but a friend of mine worked for them in the early 90's.

Haven't read your thread yet, but sending you hugs and prayers Samantha.
