Usually, on our day off from the parks, we hang out at the pool most of the day, go up and get dressed and then go to Downtown Disney to shop. Then we come back to our resort for a later dinner. We were thinking this year we might like to eat somewhere around Downtown Disney. We thought it might be nice to check out one of the resorts down there, as well, just because we like to do that. So, I'm wondering what resorts are within walking distance of DTD and what restaurants you recommend, if any. We will be on the dining plan. Do you have any suggestions? Our son will be almost five at the time, if that helps with your recommendation. Thank you!

SSR is the only resort within walking distance, and that can be far with a young one. For a casual meal I recommend Earl of Sandwich. My family loves it there. For a nicer place you could try the T-Rex Cafe or Rainforest. Adults don't usually like these places as much as kids do. I find them a bit loud, but they do hold a child's attention.

Saratoga Springs is within walking distance. There is a walking trail you can take, but it's a rather long walk to the Lobby area of the resort. We've eaten at the Turfclub at SSR once and really liked it, they also have a childrens menu. So you might want to check that out. Also, if you are in DTD....we really like Raglan Road, so that would be another option if you wanted to just stay in DTD and eat.

You could take a nice boat ride to Old Key West, Olivias while its very casual it very good. Desserts were really good.

Wolfgang Puck Express Counter Service but really good food
Wolfgang Cafe is a table service
Ragland Road

If I'm not mistaken, Paradiso 37 is on the DDP now, too. I'd run away screaming from T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe as far as eating there (neat to look around the gift shops, though). Way overpriced, not-so-good food there.

We always eat at Raglan Rd when in DTD. The food is great and we love the live music but it might be too loud for your lo.

I love Planet Hollywood (you can use the $15 voucher) and Rainforest Cafe but this time we are trying House of Blues.

agree!! Raglan Road is a great experience with great food. Definitely get the bread pudding for dessert if you choose to go here. Definitely worth it!!!
