Where would you eat in Epcot?

We tried San Angelo Inn on our last trip; Feb 2005; and we very disappointed in the quality of the food and the service; waited a long time; dining area very small and crowded and service was minimal; server was friendly, but waiting a long time for everything ... definitely would not eat there again.

In EPCOT, we loved Teppanyaki for dinner and The Tangeriene Cafe for lunch! Both were absolutely wonderful!

I like eating at the different countries and trying something new and different. Since you have a lot of children with you, I would recommend either Norway, for the princess dinner, or Morocco, for the belly dancing, for the girls. Morocco has excellent food and they let the girls dance with the belly dancer. My daughter loved it.

Japan is awesome because they cook the food right in front of you, so you have sort of a show with the dining experience. Germany is good if you like a buffet. They have a band and so there is entertainment, and sometimes people will even dance.

One night, we were rather exhausted and just opted for a quick burger near the big water fountain. I can't remember the name of the restaurant. We were treated to a spectacular light and water show and just sat there for a while watching it after we were done eating.

Thanks for all the advice. I cancelled Coral Reef. We are orginally from Maryland and are very picky when it comes to seafood anyway. So I decided we should try something else, out of the ordinary. Now I'm trying to decide between San Angel Inn, sounds kind of interesting, or Beirgarten, we almost ate there last time, but opted for the counter service in Germany, the kids were too tired to even eat their hot dogs. My DH and I met in a Bavarian beer garden, where I was a dish washer and he was a cook, so I still have a special fondness for ommpah bands. Do you think we will need ADRs or can we just make them that day for either of those restaurants?
We had an ADR for Biergarten for 12...but didn't realize the band wouldn't be playing till 1:15. So we went before 12 and asked if we could change it to 1, and they were fine with that. It wans't very crowded at 1, although the podium had a line at that time, not sure if it was people trying to walk in or making ADRs. :goodvibes

We ate at San Angel Inn during our July '05 trip and were really disappointed. I guess we had high expectations based on our experiences at Disneyland's Blue Bayou. The night time setting is awsome - but, everything else was a bust. My 3 daughters - 13, 15, & 16 didn't care for either menus - the adult or child. When they couldn't find anything on the adult menu, our server suggested the child's menu. The ordered something? can't remember what - but, nobody was happy with the food. It's too exotic for kids and too spicy. Our bill for 5 people with food and sodas was around $175 (including tip) and we will definitely not eat at this place again. Service was slow - much more so than some of the other places we had table service meals at. Tables/guests are crowded in too tight, and it is wayyy too dark for family dining.

I'm new on this forum, but - haven't seen any posts about the Chip & Dale Harvest Feast at the Garden Grill in the Land. Has anybody been to this? I have reservations for dinner on Jan 1st.

Biergarden!!!

This is on our Do Not Miss List. It is our favorite place to eat at EPCOT.

We love the Pretzel Rolls. Chicken Schnitzel, and don't forget the Apple Strudel.

We also like to see the Bavarian Music Show.

I was wondering about this Chip & Dale things as well. I can't seem to find any information on it.

We love Teppanyaki in Japan and eat there every trip. The chefs are very interactive and the boy at our table (about 6-8) enjoyed it very much.

We have eaten at Coral Reef twice and had great meals both times - a year apart.

I hear the belly dancers at Morocco are also quite entertaining and get the kids involved in the dance. Can't speak to the food, but it's on our "to do" list.
