They replaced the original Grand 1 with a newer model in late February. We were actually one of the first charters on it.

It is a private excursion, you charter it, and only you (and your guests) are on board. It comes manned with a Captain and First mate, and if you are dining onboard, a private Butler for service.

We didn't dine on board (wine, cheese and crackers only). DH gave me a fireworks cruise on it for my birthday. He also invited another couple we are friends with who live in the area.

It was incredible. It cost $350 per hour to charter, but my bet is that you could work something out for your wedding meal. The charter price we paid was not inclusive of food/beverages. Those were extra.

If you do a search you might even be able to find the thread that I talked about it and posted some photo's.

Thank you, Ducklite. It sounds lovely. But probably too expensive for us. Figuring about $600 for food for ten people (at least), and then chartering the boat for at least two hours, that may be a bit too much.

Right now I think Citricos is on the top of my list. I saw some pictures on a thread called 'Citricos Reception' over on the Weddings and Honeymoons board. It looks like such a beautiful restaurant...even if we couldn't get the private room, I think I would be very comfortable there.

We are having a small wedding at Disney in December, just us and eight others. Which of these places would you eat at? Please help me decide, and be aware that I will be wearing a wedding dress with a very full skirt!

Thanks!

PS - Please notice I left V & A's off the list...as nice as I've heard it is, and appropriate for a wedding, it's just out of our price range!

While the Ca Grill is my absolute favorite, unless you book the more private wine room, I don't know that it would be a very good choice. It can get noisy. I think Citricos would be my first choice for this very special dinner, plus, the ambiance of the Grand would be a wonderful wedding atmosphere!

I think if I were you I would use Citricos for your dinner. The decor is more suited to a wedding and you can still see the fireworks. The private room sounds just like what you're looking for. It should be easy to get from the WL to GF. I'd rent a couple of limos so everyone can arrive in style!:smooth:

I agree it's nice to have strangers see you and wish you luck, but I also liked being able to celebrate with my family and friends privately afterward. I felt more relaxed -- and you certainly want to consider the noise level of your location! I would want to hear my maid of honor's toast! (FYI -- I didn't get married at WDW, but I had my ceremony in a local conservatory with strangers milling about looking at the gardens, and the reception was in a rented private room elsewhere.)

Good luck with your planning and have a wonderful wedding!

We were married at Disney last october and we had our wedding dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse...we had a fantastic waiter...the food was fantastic and the manager was so helpful...good luck with whatever you decide to do...
