Where would be an easy place to eat before Fantasmic outside of DHS?

So, another post about trying to coordinate family added to part of our trip. I have a Fantasmic package adr at Mama Melrose for next Satruday, but cannot get another for 2 people around the same time, even without the package. (can you believe there was one available for the F! while I was on phone with Disney dining and when they tried to switch over from my name to my brothers, it was taken, but what can you do)

So, now they will meet us for the show, but I was wondering where could they go to eat that is the easiest to get to. I was thinking DTD? Any suggestions would be great.
We will maybe do AK in the am and then chill for a couple of hours before the dinner. So they will need to get from their dinner to DHS for the 6:30 show.
thanks!!
I should add there is no availability for any TS at DHS and they prefer not to eat CS.

I would suggest somewhere at the Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach Clubs. Those resorts are close to DHS. They could walk or take a boat to the studios. I haven't eaten at these restaurants so I can't really make a good suggestion.

I agree with the PP that the BW/BC/YC area is the best idea.

My first idea was Cape May but not sure how early they start dinner--there might not be enough time to get over to the studios.

Beaches & Cream would work. Look up those area restaurants and see what you think your family would like.:goodvibes

Beaches and Cream does not take ADRs so the waits can be quite long. And it is basically counter service. Lots of restaurants on the Boardwalk. And it is not a bad walk to the Studios if they don't want to wait for a boat after they eat.

If you have the package, they will not be allowed into the seating area with you unless the CM's are in a good mood. Usually they are checking your tickets pretty closely. So if you want to all sit together, you will have to join them in the general seating area.

I know this, so we will play it by ear, maybe go in through the reserved seating entrance, then try to sit in general altogether.

Does anyone think an adr at wolfgang puck cafe in dtd at 4 would be okay for them to get there for a 6:30 show?

On Disney transportation? No way. If they have a car they are still cutting it close. In general seating they would run the risk of being in standing room or not getting in at all if they arrive back at the park too late.

Don't even consider Downtown Disney unless they have a car or are willing to take a cab. Because they don't run buses there from the parks, it's really not possible to get between DTD and DHS quickly.

They'd be best off sticking around the Epcot resort area. If you want a 1 credit dining plan restaurant, try Captain's Grill or Kouzzina, they are usually not booked up. There's Cape May if they like a buffet. If they are not on the dining plan, there are restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin resorts which are generally easier to get into without a reservation because they don't take the plan.

Cape May starts dinner at 4 something. I know because that's our plan :goodvibes. We are eating there at 4:45 and then heading back to HS afterwards for Osborne lights and maybe Fantasmic at 8.

It depends when in December you are going? Fantasmic fills up really fast during busy times. You really have to get there early to get a seat without a package. I can not remember if you pre-pay the package??? We have done a package a few times but one year we did not and got CS really early and headed over and ate our food while waiting for the show to start. It was really fun to just people watch, make some new friends and get to talk with the CM's. Maybe you could change your plans as well and just all go this route???

At the Swan? Il Mulino is good! Kimonos is good for sushi if they like sushi. And they could walk there from the park and then walk back.
