The dues are alot. Although a large % of my points are subsidized dues so that helps immensely. I collect cards throughout the year so when it come time to pay it hurts less.
There was a time when I told myself I would stay under $6k per year in dues. I'll soon be pushing $8K.

I can handle it now, but I'm little worried about a few years down the road when my annual income goes to zero!

Then again, that's when I'll have more time than ever to enjoy my DVC membership!

Rock meet hard spot

So sitting back and reflecting on how this comes across as super crazy… $9992 for dues.

I just want to preface this with the month before I bid on my first DVC contract we took a vacation to Disneyland and the room charge was $5500 and we only stayed 3 nights in 2 studios. Now that we are DVC we are getting many many more vacations for our money including a grand villa at Aulani next month which never would’ve happened without DVC.

50 here, 50 there. All of the sudden you are in the comma club!

My problem is that my family is getting tired of going 🤣
I bet you can find some new family who will appreciate your points better around here! 🤣
I will be perfectly honest I don’t know how much my dues are now…
lol, you are not alone…though by the time I got to this post I see you had calculated it. My AUL points are NOT subsidized so I’d prefer to remain in blissful ignorance.

I am pretty sure I’ll never reach the 1000 point club…but I currently have trouble remembering how many I currently have. I think 700ish, and I have put a couple offers on 150pt contracts lately, so I’m creeping up there… I actually could see myself making it to 1000 if BCV or BWV decline another 25%… I like the idea of being able to stay in 2BD for now, without committing to the dues for another 30 years.

The value is there, even though it sounds like a lot of dues. As you know, if you were paying cash for those rooms, it would be more than double the cost of the dues.

We're at 450. Would like about 80 more at VGC in a couple of years to get larger villas. But will probably have to sacrifice my one small contract, a 50 pt BLT, because DH ridiculously thinks we have enough DVC points 😆 and it'll partially offset the new cost.

Hopefully the economy isn't looking scary in a couple of years because then DH will say no to more VGC, even with the the small BLT sacrifice.

All that to say, I'm jealous of @VGCgroupie 's ability to get spousal approval! 1000 points, wow! Congrats!
