A balcony at any resorts is like my weaknessSame here, nothing like sitting on that balcony with a SV and a warm cup of Joffreys![]()
I love me a monorail view for sure!I live for a good balcony with a view! This pic was taken on April 23rd. Sunset at VGF. Sitting on my RESORT VIEW deluxe studio balcony. Take me back!View attachment 969344
Now this is a good resort view. Its a view of the resort like it should beI live for a good balcony with a view! This pic was taken on April 23rd. Sunset at VGF. Sitting on my RESORT VIEW deluxe studio balcony. Take me back!View attachment 969344

I think Riv might be the resort for you!I'm such a coffee snobthat I can't drink the Joffreys in the room! I tried...nope!
Speaking of Joffreys coffee, y'all please tell me how much water you use to brew it. When we were at SSR, I was convinced that the instructions on the Joffreys package was wrong. The amount of water it said to use, I was like...no way that's too much water and it won't taste right. I already knew that because that pack of coffee was too small. So I followed instructions anyways and yep I was right, it was like water w/ a some brown coloring. I let my husband read the package to make sure myweren't playing tricks on me and I wasn't crazy. He said the same thing, that's a lot of water. Then we tried less water, still didn't taste right, so I just gave up and used my own coffee.
We didn't get the newer keurig even though our room was refurb, we had the mr coffee still so I couldn't even try the pods to see if they would taste better. I always bring my own coffee if I know I can't get decent black coffee in the area we are staying, so I was fine and still got a good cup of
, so no one got hurt

I know, if you calculate how much more they charge for a view its pretty ridiculous.A balcony at any resorts is like my weaknessgive me the balcony and I'll pay twice the price!
j/k I mean I wouldn't really pay double, but I think I kinda am already since I own DVC?
But really, that morning coffee on the balcony
such small thing that gives us so much joy that we are willing to let the mouse empty our bank accounts!

Do they have better Joffrey at Riv?I think Riv might be the resort for you!
This is gorgeous I would really prefer this over a lake view. For vgf I will always choose resort view first.I live for a good balcony with a view! This pic was taken on April 23rd. Sunset at VGF. Sitting on my RESORT VIEW deluxe studio balcony. Take me back!View attachment 969344
Le petit cafeDo they have better Joffrey at Riv?Unfortunately (but fortunately for my bank account!
), no it's not. There are a couple things my husband and I both like about the resort, but overall it's not our vibe.
I'll pay more for the view if I can justify it, and depends on what the view is.I know, if you calculate how much more they charge for a view its pretty ridiculous.
I was surprised when I first starting learning about DVC and saw that they charged so much extra for a view, I was like I thought you just request that and get whatever is available like at other hotels
But I will say i would pay a lot extra for that vgc world of color view. Just magical to see the show from your room and theme park attractions️ it reallt changes the experience imo. Too bad they dont let you choose over there.
yeah that's also the case at BLT. Some TPV is better than others but you pay the same amount of points for those TPV. I honestly wouldn't spend my points on TPV there, at most PV (preferred view) I got VERY lucky last year, stayed at a lakeview (now PV) studio and got this view! But the thing that really sucks about dvc is you can use the extra points and not really even get a nice tpv. That would really upset me so maybe the way vgc does it is better.
That's an amazing view! Much better than the one I got, but that was before I knew touringplans existedI'll pay more for the view if I can justify it, and depends on what the view is.
I've never stayed at VGC but can imagine having the view of the park and world of color is pretty fantastic!

I did do my research prior though and requested the north side specifically.

Thank you! This was an amazing view for "resort/standard". We could actually see the Beach Pool and the lake looking the other direction. We watched HEA fireworks from the balcony too! Turned the tv to Fireworks Audio channel and we were set. I would love to get this studio again. This is gorgeous I would really prefer this over a lake view. For vgf I will always choose resort view first.
The crazy thing is, we did cut the water to half and still tasted like crap!Truth!
I thought I quoted the coffee question, but I guess not. The in room coffee absolutely tastes like hot water. My recent stay at VGC had 70th anniversary Joffreys coffee and I decided to try it. I put just under 4 cups of water in the coffee maker and it was delicious. It's a special blend that's good, but I do suggest cutting the amount of water in half if you like to taste the coffee at all.![]()
I have found that it helps to bring my own filters. I open the filter pack provided and dump the grounds into a regular coffee filter. I think the grounds surrounded in a filter pod don't help at all!The crazy thing is, we did cut the water to half and still tasted like crap!I'll give it another shot this Fall when we are back at WDW.
Still will continue to bring my own coffee just in case!
ETA: Thank you for confirming the coffee taste like crap, and that also validate I am not a an extreme crazy coffee snob!![]()
I used to not like Joffrey I now realize it just when I make it, it’s good on the rest of WDW when they make it.I'm such a coffee snobthat I can't drink the Joffreys in the room! I tried...nope!
