Hello! I hope your sitting back with a GREAT cup of coffee.. I have a lot to tell you. including lot of pictures!!


I hope everyone had a GREAT 4th of July!!! Safe and Happy! I have read a couple of your updates loved reading all your GOOD TIMES!
First i was SO HAPPY to have a 4 day weekend!!!! WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO! So looking forward to this.
Second i was NOT hosting a party! 1st time in 13 years i did not have a party!!! i just didn't have the time to get everything together..
Thursday we went to watch the local fireworks show. I am not all too happy with the way the pictures came out. But here is a couple of them.

so i am obviously not going to post all 400 photo's that i took this night!!!
it was a beautiful night. we had a great time! the fireworks were beautiful!
On to the 4th! Independence Day! Tom was asked to work and of course he is going to...
My Mom wanted us to come and BBQ! YAY! i didn't have a to do anything! on our way!
we had a nice time. it was quiet great food and better company. Zack kept asking WHEN IS DAD COMING. to the point i asked him if he wanted to call Tom. I thought it was adorable he wanted his Dad.
I should have known better......
He got on the phone with Tom, after he was done Zack handed me the phone...
Zack was waiting for Tom to get there with the Fireworks. i should have known there is always an alternative motive
So about 6 Tom got to my Mom's house we brought out OLD pictures and had a BALL!!!
After MUCH pestering Tom finally allowed the kids to fire off some stuff.
There is always SO many people blowing off TONS and expensive stuff we buy the least amount we can.
What made me very proud was NONE of my munchkins knew how to use a lighter...

trying to figure out how to use a lighter.

Matt could NOT figure it out.

looks like a great time brought back a LOT of memories when I was a kid living in NY lighting your first fireworks was a right of passage I was with the boys with this; most of the girls (if they were brave enough) would be content with Sparklers and "writing" their name in the air Good Times

I LOVE the boys faces during the lighter lesson. Very good they don't know how to use one. When mine turned 18 they all went out and bought lighters. YUP you have to be 18 to purchase a lighter in MA. So, they drove uptown to the tobacco store and spent anywhere from $4 - $8 on each lighter. Mind you none of them smoke, fireworks are illegal in MA... so WHAT did they need a lighter for? Because of course they could. I suggested perhaps they should have purchased a lottery ticket instead. But, they wanted something they would always have. hahaha

Personally I love your firework pictures. Especially the Mickey head one. I wo wish I could figure out how to use my DSLR better. Dh keeps saying he will learn & teach me, but that has NOT happened yet.


Happy you got to spend the day with your mom & all enjoyed it.

FRIDAY!!
I took Friday as a vacation day! I deserve it. BUT Tom's car struck AGAIN... The spring broke! he took my car. I had to go shopping for our friends daughter (same one who want to go to Disney with us and the fam who wants me to do their family photo's) So where do you go shopping? THE DISNEY STORE!!! Thankfully my Mom wanted to come along so she was able to drive us!
Off to the Mall we went. Again here i go with intention of going there for a present... Yeah well that wasn't in the stars.
I let Meg pick out the gift. Can you guess what the gift was???



Come on you didn't even try to guess!!!


















She picked out DUFFY!!! 17' and the store had a buys Duffy get an outfit for free! so she picked out the sailor outfit! SOOOOOO cute!!!
The boys pleaded for a small stuffy. which of course was also on sale. Zack picked out a small bullseye, Matt picked a pascal, Meg picked a robin. well the sale was buy two for whatever price. which then I PICKED out Art from MU. he is my favorite from the movie. Mom went on her own shopping spree! whcih ended up tee shirts for ALL of us!!! Matt and Zack got the same shirt from Monsters U. Matt was NOT happy about getting the same shirt. Meg picked out a Minnie shirt, Mom got a fab 4 shirt and of COURSE I PICKED out a new JACK tee!!! WHOOP!
Then I have been kicking around an idea for my next photo series. something that can go on for a long time, can also go along with my regular shooting. I wanted something some people will maybe know not something too iconic. Yet someone fun.
I wanted Walter. if you don't know who Walter is... SHAME.. Walter is the newest Muppet from the newest Muppet movie. My Mom knew this and lo and behold:

I have Walter!!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited about this!!! Oh the possibilities! As a photographer it makes you see things even more differently then normal! I love the Disney store.
we returned home about 2:30. I thought the party started at 5. ummm. i am WRONG AGAIN. it starts at 3!!!! geez i am batting a thousand here. ok TIME TO rush to get out of the house i totally forgot to get a card and a bag to put Duffy in! crap.
we did get to their house about 3:30.. Phew. no big deal. it was a GREAT party! Small and comfortable. the kids were able to swim it was another nice night and we had a blast.
Well guess what? Walter made his debut.
He enjoyed the sandbox:

then he went (fake) swimming, ate at the BBQ etc. The Dad (Chris) REALLY got into this. and helped me a TON with ideas and posing Walter.
it was getting late and time to get home! their older son asked me to come to his game the next day to get some pictures of him batting.
SURE!!!
Well, since Mom bought Walter for me. She has alternate plans for me as well...

Saturday!

Since Mom retired she has been wanting a horse (again) since she right now can't buy one she is doing this thing called sharing. So she wanted pictures of her horse, along with a trail ride. Sure ok.
My mom has owned horses showed with horses etc. so i have been around them a lot.
Thankfully she had scotch guard, I need scotch guard for my AWESOME incredible bag and to soak Walter down.
No i was not going to take Walter on the trail.. i had enough to carry with the camera.
Mom got her horse who i forgot her name.. then brought out Lucy for me.
THANK GOD my horse is shorter then the BEAST my Mother had to get on.I swear this horse was about 72 hands... She is TALL!!! Don't tell me mom i am posting this:

she HATES these pictures of her... "i wasn't ready" "im Sloppy" blah blah whatever. it's a horse ride we are NOT going into the ring.
So with help to get on Lucy who of course is part elephant to hold my fat behind off we go just my Mom Me and a guide Courtney since my mom is not that familiar with the trails yet. So Lucy likes to walk me into trees, poles, brush, anything. and BOY OH BOY is she stubborn. so having the thought i taking pretty pictures on a trail was NOT happening. we did stop one to TRY to get a pic of the one deer we saw. Lucy said NO. i want to rub all the flies off of her.
THEN we started trotting. Lucy said No. then Lucy decided she either didn't like my shoes or she thought my shoes were flies. i kicked she laughed then i have cuts on my legs either from the bridle or her teeth i don't know which one. I have her game now and took hold of the COW i was riding.
Courtney who has a cutest little horse said want to try trotting again? Me OF COURSE but i think Lucy has better ideas... I hold Lucy back so my Mom and her monstrous horse can go with Courtney. Now Lucy decides she doesn't like my Mom's horse. throws her head back and ears flat back... Really?!?!? Lucy in position we trot. FINALLY! I really hope they dont' give Lucy to a beginner rider. she is a pain in the rear. about an hour and a half later, we are back at the barn, time to get off the cow/elephant/moose horse thing named Lucy. I am able to swing around do the slide etc. shirt gets caught in the horn. i give a show to people... Thanks Lucy...

well now... If any of you know what's it's like to ride a nice horse you KNOW what is feels like afterwards. (ruthIE?)i know you can chime in here.
GREAT GOOGLIE MOOGLIE! did my legs KILL ME. from my lower back ALLLLLLLLLLLLL the way down to my toes!!! Mom reminds me in how the more you go riding the more you get used to it.
Ummm I am 39, overweight, and not in the mood for a moody horse.. thanks mom but no thanks!

we started slow so he would get accumulated to the horses.

My great dane Lex is taller then this pony (mini horse?).
FINALLY after much pulling to get my Mom out of the barn we were on our way home. Geesh! I have over 1500 pictures to go threw!!!
Finally home i ask the kids how Football went. which went fine boys are doing great! YAY! Yes Football has started. There went my month off
My phone roars. It's Jenn... Remember he wanted me to take pictures of his game??? Crap. well honestly i said a little harsher word..
OFF we go back to the field.
meet up with everyone and Chris gets happy because i brought Walter along..
take a couple of pictures of the game nothing special. but then it was time to have a little fun.

That's what it reminded me of like, where's wally. Pics are really great I am not very good at taking pics my hands shake a little bit even try holding my breath. But DH won't even pic up a camera so it's up to me. So in aug. you will all have to deal with my terrible photography of DD Raina and family...lol

What an amazing and BUSY weekend you had! It looks like the kids had a wonderful 4th of July! I remember getting to light my own fireworks for the first time...such an AWESOME feeling...and it's not just a boy thing!

Your trip to the Disney Store sounds pretty awesome and like you and the kids came away with some wonderful finds...especially Walter! Speaking of Walter...OMG I totally LOVE the pictures and the idea. As for a creative name...ummm....hmmmm....yeah....I GOT NOTHING!

I have thought of picking up a small Disney plush of some sort to take pics in Disney! Gonna have to decide on a character....

Of course you did silly that was a great shot. I had a chance to go back and look at some of your other shots and fell in love with the fairy sculpture series. You also had some great shadowy shots of trees.

Glad you had a good 4th. The kids faces are priceless they are amazed yet scared.

Walter on wooden horse to train for the real deal had me cracking up what a great innovative series. Where's Walter is what came to my head first. Hmmmmm initals WDW could somehow be worked into this. Walter Doing What? Oh my mind is now traveling STOP........

OMGosh!!!! I missed all the Walter pictures this morning!!! Shame on me!!! I love him soooo much!

Um yah - grew up on horses... Haven't ridden once since Josh came home from Iraq in - ahem - 2005... I know if I was to ever crawl up on another horse (poor horse) - I won't be able to walk again afterwards. Sigh... I do miss riding though. I think Walter did great for his first time...

No, they don't still have the lighters. But, our house hasn't burned down so I guess all is good. You should see how they celebrated turning 21. ... actually they were very well behaved. They all have worked at a liquor store, so being around alcohol was no big deal. We went out for dinner as a family & they each ordered one drink. Wait, it is pretty cool when you have 3 adults sitting at the dinner table enjoying an adult beverage for the first time with the family, all the same day!

I love traveling Walter pictures. No idea for a name, but some other posters were pretty creative!
