Where/when to have dinner for illuminations

We'll be at DW 8/31-9/4 (just dh and I). I've read before, a year ago, where to eat to get a nice view of the illumination show. Also, what time should I try to get an AR for?

We always shoot for 7:15-7:30 ADR at the Rose & Crown, and then
hope for a patio table. We've been quite lucky over the past few yrs
to get one just about every time. If not though, I do think they still let
the patrons inside the restaurant come out onto the patio when the show
starts.
