Sci-Fi Drive-in: We ate here for lunch on 9/21. My dh & I split the burger and it was good, definitely better than most I've had elsewhere in WDW. This was the only burger I had the entire trip. I was bound and determined to eat burgers all week. My oldest son had a kids burger with a cookies and cream shake. My youngest had chicken nuggets. My dh and youngest son (6) enjoyed watching the movies. My oldest (9) didn't seem to get it and was ready to leave fairly quickly. He also didn't like his burger. His shake was awesome though. I kept sneaking sips.

San Angel Inn: This was my dh's choice not mine. The atmosphere was great and we were seated right away without a PS on Mon. 9/22 for a late lunch. I had Tacos al Carbon and my dh had Tacos al Pastor. I we each shared. I was surprised that they were actually pretty good. Not the Tex Mex we're used to, but still good. My boys split the Queso Fundido. The oldest made it disappear pretty quickly and really thought it was good. My youngest didn't like it very much. We also had chips and salsa and I could swear the chips were Tostitos. Better than expected here.

Whispering Canyon: We had breakfast here on 9/23. I had a yummy omlette with home fried potatoes, my dh had the two egg breakfast, my oldest had biscuits & gravy, and my youngest had the one egg child's plate. Everything was good except for the dry biscuits. There were not many people there that morning. The castmembers were trying to ham it up, but I think it's harder when the restaurant is nearly empty. When my son asked for ketchup they yelled for it, but no one brought any so the waitress had to go get some from the back. Another castmember caught my husband setting the ketchup on another table later and scolded him for getting rid of it. My youngest loved the Lincoln Log table. We could hardly pull him away from it to eat. Overall very good meal here.

Plaza Restaurant: We had ice cream treats here on 9/23. My dh and I shared a banana split, my old son got a hot fudge sundae, and my youngest got a sprite float. Everything was very good and my youngest thought the restaurant looked too fancy for us to be going in wearing shorts. This was a nice break from the heat. We were seated immediately without a PS around 3pm.

Catalina Eddies counter service in MGM: we had pizza here for dinner on 9/23. It was okay for counter service and that's about all I can say. I'm not big on thick crusted pizza, but we needed something quick before going to Fantasmic and this fit the bill.

Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney: we had lunch here on 9/24. I had the buffalo chicken salad, my dh had the crab cakes, my oldest had chicken nuggets and youngest had macaroni and cheese. We also had the island bruschetta appetizer. I loved this and my dh thought it was okay. Food and service were very good. I would definitely eat here again. My boys loved this place. We were seated immediately with a PS around 11:30am.

Wonderland Cafe: I had a cafe mocha while my boys played at DisneyQuest. It was very good!!!!!

Ghirradelli Soda Fountain: I had a iced mocha and my boys and dh split a coke float. Very good!!!

Chef Mickey's Character Breakfast on 9/25: Food was okay. Dh liked it better than I did. My boys loved it. My oldest thought the Mickey waffles were great and my youngest ate alot of french toast. The character interaction was good. Service was swift, but our waiter never introduced himself and it felt like there was a get 'em in and move 'em out mentality even though the restaurant wasn't full. We arrived 40 minutes before our PS and were seated immediately.

Whispering Canyon, again: This time for dinner on 9/25. My dh & I both had the skillet. The pulled pork was definitelly the best and we asked for more of it. I wasn't that impressed with the other meats or the stew. If I go here again I'll get a pulled pork sandwich because the pulled pork was really good. My boys had chicken and macaroni and cheese. Our waitress was Heada Lettuce and she was great. My boys asked for ketchup and since it had been a flop at breakfast a few mornings prior they didn't realize what they were in for. They had to stand on their chairs and yell for ketchup and several people brought it to them. They thought this was great. My youngest participated in the pony race and also played with the Lincoln Logs again.

On 9/26 we had pretzels from that boat at MGM. I'm not sure of the name. Anyway, they were dry and weren't that great. The cream cheese pretzel was better than the apple one. The apple pretzel was very dry and I only had one bite. My oldest liked it though.

Liberty Tree Tavern: We went to the character dinner here on 9/26. The food was great!!! Everything was very yummy. Our waiter, Raymond, was very curt and had absolutely no personality. At times it seemed that he was almost dropping the food on the table and then he'd hurry off very quickly. We got great character interaction from Minnie, but the rest of the characters hurried off quickly even though the restaurant wasn't full. We'd then see the characters walking back by searching for tables they hadn't been to. It was kinda strange, but the food was great.

ESPN club: We had dinner here on 9/27. My dh and I split up the dingers (boneless buffalo wings) and the club wrap. Both were great!! My oldest son had chicken and my youngest had a hotdog. We really liked it here and will definitely go back on a return trip. My oldest really liked the atmosphere and he's not even much of a sports fan. My dh loved being able to watch so many college games at once. They had the Texas A&M game on the main screen. So he didn't want to leave this place.

Roaring Forks snack bar in the WL: We had several breakfasts and dinners here. The breakfast pizza is really good, but very big. We always split this. I had a chicken wrap that was pretty good and a philly cheesesteak on another night that was okay. The croissants here are surprisely pretty good and so were the cinnamon rolls. My kids didn't like the hashbrowns very much, but enjoyed most other things they ate here. For some reason my boys really like this place.
NOTE: I was very annoyed by the numerous people I saw filling mugs in Roaring Forks that were not Wilderness Lodge mugs. We saw several people filling up Typhoon Lagoon mugs, Brother Bear mugs, and mugs from other resorts. No one said a word to them that we ever saw.

I love to see the different places that people eat and how they like the food......thanks

What is Tacos al Carbon and Tacos al Pastor? It's probably pretty obvious. Also does the atmosphere at Whispering Canyon get a little old after a while. I'm not sure if I'm up for that much "fun" for breakfast. Fantastic Review's

Tacos al Carbon is beef or chicken rolled in a flour tortilla. These had a black bean salsa and some guacamole on the side. The Tacos al Pastor were basically the same thing but in a corn tortilla. I liked the Pastor a little better than the Carbon.

I don't know where these people got them, but I saw two different families using them at the WL

Great reviews!!! Thanks for taking the time to post them- and that would annoy me too about the mugs!

Hey loubelou,

It's me...Heada Lettuce. I'm so glad your family had a good time and hope you return soon!

Hey, we're the family that the pepper lid opened up on our son's mac and cheese and you had to go and get him another bowl. Thanks so much for a fun time. We really enjoyed both our trips to WCC, but the dinner was definitely the best.

Thanks for the reviews, loubelou! You dined at many restaurants that I have never tried, and I enjoyed reading about them. Always thinking about future meals... ;)

Your reviews and taking time to post and share them very good information.:wave2: ::yes:: :wizard:

Thats a shame about the LTT. We ate there last time and loved the food and the characters were great. The service was ok but nothing compared to the Character dinner at the garden grill.

Thanks for the reviews. We ate at Whispering Canyon Cafe for the first time on our trip last month and really enjoyed it.

Wonderful reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Sorry to hear about LTT. We went in Jan. 2002 and had a great meal and time. I hope we won't be disappointed our next trip.
