So, our first trip to Epcot on Saturday will coincide with the USA's match against Ghana in the World Cup. My son (OK, and his dad, too) will be wanting to watch.

Can anyone tell me whether we'll be able to find a big-screen TV with the game in Epcot? And if there's more than one bar/restaurant that'll be showing the game, we'd love a recommendation.

Thanks much in advance.

Okay - You're in luck !

Simply exit Epcot via the International Gateway (which is a smaller entrance/exit near UK/France/Canada area) "Im Sure SOMEONE will have a MAP" to help you LOL.....

walk towards the Boardwalk Inn... You will veer left...and ESPN Restaurant will be on your left... about a short 10 minute walk... IF that....

(If you veer right... you will go towards the Beach Club).

ESPN Restaurant should have PLENTY of sports and TV's to choose from...

Have a magical visit !

Thanks, Tinkerbell! Given ESPN's investment in broadcast rights for the World Cup, that sounds like a great place to go and watch.

I 2nd ESPN on the Boardwalk. Very close to EPCOT, great food and many TV'S. Enjoy your vacation and the game. Go USA!!!!:cool1::banana:

I would think that's the place anyone interested in sports would want to watch, anyway. I'm sure the Stanley Cup finals were broadcast there.

I wonder if the Rose & Crown have a tv set up in the pub....? Anyone know?

I'm sorry, I just had to hijack your post to say a big YEA!!! for the USA!!

I live in Europe where the World Cup is HUGE. It's been so fun to watch the games. Yesteday we watched the games in a pub where everyone was English. Most TVs showed the England game but luckily a few showed the US game (we were the only one watching it!). We were on pins and needles the whole time. We were SO SO excited that the US won. We were also happy with the England win since we wanted them to go through too.

Have fun watching Saturday! We'll be watching as well, though it will be nighttime here!

I don't know of any location in Epcot that has any TV.

However, years ago when the Winter Olympics were in Lillihammer they did have a TV or two set up in Akershus. However, now they have Princesses there.

Actually, I don't know any any in-Park restaurant (other than the 50's Prime Time Cafe) which has television sets.

I would be pretty shocked if they had a TV for the game in the restaurant. Nothing is ever impossible with Disney, but it would surprise me.

Disney works really hard to make the "real world" disappear while you are there. Seems like a live event like the World Cup would ruin the escape from the outside world vibe that Disney works so hard to create.

AH! THAT IS WHY I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE !!!!!:lmao:

Postscript: Yes, ESPN Club was the place to see the game. Problem is, everyone was there. My son and arrived 15 minutes before the match and joined about 50 people waiting outside to get in. Not even to get a table, mind you -- just waiting to get inside.

The ESPN Club is well-prepared for such events, fortunately for us. It has two flat-screen TVs (although one didn't work very well) over the doors for folks stuck in line. That's where we and many others watched the match. More good fortune came when we discovered that the pizza joint down the boardwalk sold take-out slices and beer. That made the heat and sweat seem not so bad.

In the end, the USA lost, but it was a glorious day for the future of U.S. soccer, when people are standing in 95-degree heat outside of a bar to watch the game. Oh, and my son and I did get a standing-room spot inside the air-conditioned bar about halftime, and we enjoyed the match (despite the outcome) with many other like-minded souls.
