Where to upgrade DAP's?

I know the cost to upgrade DAP's so we can enter the park on a block out day but where do we go to do this - is it at the ticket just before you get to the turnstiles?

If so do the booths open before the turnstiles - ie how early can we go to do this?

You will go to the ticket booths for your block out day ticket they open well before the turnstyles do.

Then you take the blockout ticket to the AP center in either park.

On the left end of main street just past Coke Corner if you want a long wait.

Or inside California Greetings in DCA if you want a short wait. Although this spot will move or close when they do work on the building, as part of the DCA remodel. When this happens is not known, probably this summer or in the Fall.

Thanks

I was just wondering why, once we had paid our extra $50 each we then need to visit the AP Center - we don't plan to park hop that day - just stay in DL park.

I don't think you need to visit the Ap center. Your title suggests you wanted to fully upgrade your AP not simply get a blackout ticket.

Even when you upgrade from AP to AP or ticket to AP you go to the AP centers. That is where they will take your picture and make your new AP. You don't add credits onto an existing AP, they have to make a new card.

I understand that. I believe the OP just wanted to know where to get a blackout ticket for the day and does not want to actually do an AP upgrade.

That's right - sorry maybe 'upgrade' was the wrong word to use in this situation - so just to confirm we already have our DAP's and want to get in on the Saturday - so we are ready to go once we have paid our fee for getting our tickets unblocked for that day, right?

You don't get your pass unblocked. You take your AP with you and they (Ticket Booth) will sell you a black out day ticket for $50(currently). That ticket will work like a park hopper.

Maybe I'm missing something in this thread... If you already have an AP and have a picture on file with Disney or have had an AP in the last 12 months, then you do not need to go to the AP processing center to make changes to your AP. We have bought new APs right at the ticket windows and had them printed there since we had pictures on file from the last time we had APs. If you want to upgrade your pass on a blockout day, you should not need to buy a blockout ticket. You should just be able to take your AP to the ticket window, pay the price difference between the AP you have and the one you want, and they will print the new AP right there at the window for you. If you only have an AP voucher and have never had your picture taken, then you would need to go to the AP processing center in either park.

BTW, I've read that there are some changes happening to the APs starting today, but I don't think they are relevant to this particular question since we seem to be discussing an already active AP.
