Where to Trick or Treat?

We're arriving on October 30th, and my 7 year old is upset that we won't be home for Trick or Treating. We are not going to attend MNSSHP. Any suggestions on where to go? I first thought of Celebration because we have stayed there before, and we'll be nearby.

We get TONS of kids here in Celebration ( I usually hand out over 1,000 pieces of candy in 3 hrs!) Out of the 14 years that I have lived here there has only been one year that they did not let anyone in unless you lived here. And another year they had visitors park out in the front of town (by the hospital) and shuttled them throughout town, so the traffic wasn't horrible. If you do come here, my suggestion would be to come early and eat dinner downtown (around 4pm) leave your car parked in one spot and walk around to the houses. The town is full starting around 5pm, and falling on a Saturday this year it will be PACKED. Have fun!

Thank you! Maybe we'll be knocking on your door!

Make them a special bags full of treats, small trinkets and a gift card in a plastic pumpkin. My DS would rather be in WDW then TorT in our neighborhood. We have done the party twice though and its great.

That was my thought, but it didn't fly with my 7 year old. She LOVES to go door to door. I thought we'd just start our trip on Sunday, but when I saw how high the airfare was on the weekend, I decided we should fly in on Friday. I was rewarded with big pouts until I got the idea of treat or treating in a neighborhood. Now, she is all smiles! And we can't do the MNSSHP. My older child is special needs, and she can not tolerate being around lots of costumed people or Halloween decorations. You don't realize how many decorations are around until you try taking her into even a drugstore in September. Poor kid. She'll wait in the room with my husband and I'll Uber over to Celebration.

You could also TOT at Fort Wilderness but it will be crazy there also, the campers know how to do it right it, they decorate the sites and hand out LOTS of candy

That's a great idea too! What time does the TOT start? Where could we park? Any additional hints are welcomed!

I would imagine that TOT would start around dusk, as far parking goes I would take Disney transportation as the parking at the Fort will be restricted and you might get turned away.
