We usually drive to WDW at night, and either drive straight there or stop at a hotel on the way. Is there a place you would recommend to stop for a couple of hours for a nap. Last time we stopped at a rest stop and parked beside a cop car, but cant remember which rest stop it was. Does anyone recommend somewhere that is safe?

That area is pretty sparse with towns. But you will see signs for peach shops, pecan shops, ect ect. there will always be well lit parking lots.

I would suggest the nice big Rest Stop in Florida, it can't be missed, it is right over the state line and tehre is a huge sign. We stop there every trip, no matter what time and it is very safe, I think there is either security or a police car in the parking lot all hours of the day or night. We usually hit there sometime between midnight and 3 am and I have never felt unsafe. There is 24 hour access to restrooms as well as snack/soda/ice cream machines.

If you are traveling on I-75, Exit 2 in GA is a good place to stop. If you are on I-95, the first FL rest stop is safe and a good place to nap.

We go down I-75. I have also heard there are some states that dont allow you to sleep in your car at a rest stop? Is FL or GA one of them?

I don't know about Georgia. I would think it was fine, because the rest stop in Florida has an area for truckers in the back lot and I am sure some of them sleep there. We are heading toDestin, FL this weeked, if the rest stop is open when we pass through I will ask.
