Where to stay

I am thinking of planning a trip to DL, but I have no clue where to stay. I would like to stay at a good neighbor hotel. I would love to know peoples thoughts on which hotel is the best for location and price. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

My favorites are.

Howard Johnson. Inside corridors, large comfortable rooms. Some rooms with nice views od the park and fireworks. Pretty grounds with lots of trees and two pools. A 7 minute walk to the gates of the parks. No free breakfast.

Candy Cane Inn. Very nicely decorated, comfortable rooms. Some pretty gardens and pool area (though small). Great free breakfast. 7 minute walk to the parks and they have their own private shuttle to the drop off area. A bit more expensive than other choices sometimes.

Best Western Park Place Inn. Have mini suite rooms that sleep 6. Room decore is nice. Big fridge and microwave in each room. Decent free breakfast. Is as close as you can get to the parks without staying at Disney's Grand Californian. Is closer than the other two Disney hotels.

For a good neighbor hotel, I vote for the Howard Johnson too. It's very nice, rooms are large w/mini fridge, nice pool/spa area, and good location to walk to the parks (about 7-10 minute walk). It also has a nice convenience store that sells snacks, beer, pop, milk, juice, muffins, cereal, disney stuff, etc... (pretty much anything you may need. www.hojoanaheim.com


If you're looking for a good neighbor hotel that has a more "sophisticated" feel with an on site restaurant, bar, room service, etc, and that has "Great Views" of DL/DCA and the fireworks, I vote for the Hilton Anaheim. Rooms are a little smaller than at the Hojo, but the view is superb! Also, the Hilton is a bit of a walk to the parks.

we have done the getway today and stayed at the hilton very good service this year we have booked are vacations throught disneyland.com they are great to work with to and we are staying at the best western rafflie inn and suites in a kids suite that looks great in the pictures .candice

Another vote for the HoJo. The Park Inn is the only other Good Neighbor hotel I have personally stayed in. While it has some advantages (slightly closer walk to DL, free breakfast) I think the HoJo's rooms are nicer. They are much roomier and the grounds are really nice. The other hotels on Harbor between Best Western Park Place Inn and HoJo do not have grounds to speak of . The HoJo however has really nice grounds, with beautiful trees, flowers and twinkling lights and a couple of nice pool areas.

I cannot recommend the HoJo highly enough. It is my favorite hotel for DL. We just love it!! It is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff is outstanding! It's a short walk to the parks (7-10 minutes), it has a very nice relaxing, homey, atmosphere. You can request a room with a view of the park and overlook the Matterhorn, the monorail track, and most of Tomorrowland. You can see the fireworks from the main pool area. It's so nice to sit in the hot tub and watch the fireworks at night!
