Where to stay?

We are a family of 5--kids are (17, 14, 11 at time of travel). Our trip will be this summer in late July/early August. We are looking to cut down on costs...where is the best place to stay? CLEAN is important and we would like it to be close to DisneyLand. We will have a car though.

Anaheim Desert Inn & Suites. 5 min walk to the gates, no frills, clean and lots of options for larger rooms.

I’ve stayed at above and it is clean and cheap and close but beds are rock hard.

We always stay at The Anaheim Hotel. Almost as close as above, maybe 3 more min walk. Nice rooms that are spread out (only two stories). Pool is really nice and large. Happy hour at the bar is great. Plus they have an adjoins pizza place that is good as well. It is a little more money than ADIS. We usually get the rooms for around $115 a night.

Everyone will have their favorites...here is ours and why:
Best Western Anaheim Inn Plus.
- Right across the street from the park
- free FULL breakfast every morning
- free parking for one car
- right between Denny’s and tony Roma’s as well as others.
- recently renovated rooms that are clean.
- JUST stayed there these past 4 days dec 26-29 and going back feb 7-10!
- Just so very easy, clean, cheap, and comfortable!

What days of the week are you traveling? We really like homewood suites convention center. Especially staying Monday through Thursday. In addition to the daily breakfast buffet you get a full evening meal buffet between 5-7 those days. It always has soup, salad, and then they alternate pasta, cheese & crackers, chicken strips, nachos, (can’t remember all choices). With kids those ages you could come out ahead just from the food savings! Free wine & beer for the parents.

Considering the cost of food the hotel for us was the same nightly as one of the cheaper motels that didn’t include any meals right across the street from Disneyland. It’s a 20 min walk or you can walk to the toy story parking lot and ride the free shuttle.

Regardless of where you stay, book early for the best rates.

Don't stay at the Anaheim Hotel if you are looking for clean.

We like the Candy Cane Inn because it is clean. The parking lot surface is cleaner than the inside of our house. The place is spotless.

Candy Cane Inn is our favorite good neighbor. 8 min walk to security or a shuttle that goes back and forth. Breakfast included, CLEAN, great service, and it’s quiet.

We are a family of 6 but did our last trip as a group of 8 with my parents. We (all 8 of us) stayed at Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites together in their largest room type - the C2 family/parlor suite. It had 2 bedrooms each with 2 queen beds and a full bathroom, along with a separate sitting room with a pull-out couch. It was very spacious and perfect for our needs. I found the room to be clean and the furniture and linens had been recently upgraded. We're going again this August and will be staying at the same place but in a smaller room since it'll just be the 6 of us. It was a quick 5-minute walk to the security checkpoint on Harbor which was amazing especially when taking the toddler back for a nap. I didn't have to waste precious park time walking to and from the hotel. We've stayed further away in the past and it's just so much nicer to stay super close especially at the end of a 14 hour park day!

Hojo is our favorite hotel! Hotel style so you have interior corridors, free parking, comfy beds, clean, kiddie pool and big pool, keurigs in room, rooms w/views of DL, nice little store, great staff, 8-10 minute walk to the parks. My inlaws like staying at Park Vue Inn which is a shorter walk and they really like the free breakfast there. I haven't stayed there personally but I have been in their room and it was very clean. I'd give both of those a peek and see if they work for you.

We like the Candy Cane Inn because it is clean. The parking lot surface is cleaner than the inside of our house. The place is spotless.

I recently stated at the CCI and was less than impressed. My room and bathroom was kinda dinghy, likely won't be back there. If you need a budget bed and shower it is fine, but was disappointed in overall condition of rooms.

My go to off site properties that are always clean and predictable are Courtyard, Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

For a family of 5, while not the cheapest...the Courtyard's standard rooms are two queens and twin size bunk beds in every room.
