where to stay when going to Universal in CA

We are thinking of going to Universal in CA next year. Do they have thier own hotels like the Universal in FL?

No they don't, but there's a Hilton and a Sheraton very close by that give a free shuttle to the front gate.

No FOTL like USO hotels, either.

My two cents - we stayed at US Sheraton and were more than disappointed. They clearly did not have enough staff to handle the crowds that weekend. They quoted 15 minute waits for buses, but we waited over an hour several times.I would not stay there again unless we had a super great price.

I would suggest looking into the Universal Hilton that iceskatejen mentioned. My wife and I had our wedding reception there and the service was top notch, accomodations were very nice, and the food was very good. In fact, their seafood buffet at the Cafe Sierra within the hotel is very good. It's pricey but well worth the money.

I've stayed at both the Universal Hilton and the Universal Sheraton. I personally liked the Hilton better. Both resorts have a free shuttle to USH.

Both resorts even share the shuttle!

We stayed at the Sheraton this past June and disliked it so much that we checked out a day early and spent our last nught at the Hilton. What a beautiful room! Huge and much nicer than the one at the Sheraton (the Hilton is newer)

price was about the same too
